This tour of gilded age architecture will be of value to anyone interested in that period in NYC - Our guide Bill was very knowledgeable. It was obvious he did his research and knew a lot about the architecture, the homes, history and the people who lived here. He communicated in a clear and articulate way. The walk up Fifth Avenue alongside Central Park was a pleasant route.

Great walking tour - Richard was very knowledgeable about NYC during the gilded age. We enjoyed the walking tour very much. We walked inside two buildings that were built during the 1800’s. The rest of the tour was walking past buildings and finding out about their history.

A lively, interesting tout. - Richard provided pictures from the distant past both interior and exterior which fostered even greater understanding of the life and times of the characters of the era. His knowledge is so extensive but presented in a very understandable sequence. It was a very good tour

Great experience! Would definitely recommend! - Despite the rain, our guide Richard was fantastic. He had the perfect blend of interesting information and conversational tidbits and facts. We had a lot of fun and would definitely recommend it to any group interested in that time of New York.

Need more volume - Get up close to the docent. We couldn’t hear all she had to say a lot due to ambient noises such as traffic. We needed amplification or ear pieces. What we saw was interesting as we learned about NYC historical individuals.

Very average - I don't really care to hear about what buildings previously stood on a site. - Our guide was great - but the tour itself was just averge - below. We didn't have headphones because they ran out. Hard to hear her with all the traffic etc. She said we would receive a partial refund, and took our names at the end of the tour. I sent an email also - but never heard anything. I wouldnt recommend it.
