Educational and fun for any age - We took our eight year-old great grandson to New York for the weekend. He chose this museum. It was very educational, awe inspiring and fun to navigate. Although he did not read all of the placards, he truly enjoyed the African exhibition with all of the animals of which he could identify most of them. What a great time.

Worth it! - Terrific museum. Great for a quick visit if you’re interested in anything specific. And great if you’d want to spend hours there. It has something for everyone. Don’t forget to visit the pieces from “Night at the Museum.” Definitely buy the tickets on your phone so you just need to scan them upon entrance and not wait in line to buy the tix. Don’t forget to grab a map. Also, entering through other entrances but the main one will make it easier. The museum has some cafes but be prepared for overpaying for any drinks and food. Go and enjoy!

Beautiful - Very wonderful I loved! Impressive the part of the dinosaurs... surreal the size of these animals. We also made the tour in an observatory of the planets

Amazing exhibits and galleries - Very educational though it gets rather crowded in certain seasons so best to purchase tickets ahead of time. This museum have a wide range of areas to explore that you couldn't possibly finish in just a day so would be good to prioritize the areas that you'd like to see first.

It’s a fun museum to walk around in but does not change much - I have been coming to The American Museum of Natural History since I was four and it had not really changed much over the years. I had wanted to see the Origami tree which I had not seen in years, which is a fun thing to see during the holiday. The colorful paper animals and figures are always so creative and interesting. I like to see what the tree is constructed from what birds and animals. Once I saw the tree, I walked around the Pre-Columbian galleries and admired the art I have seen for years. I swear these galleries have not changed in thirty years. Then I toured the Dinosaur wing and it was packed with people trying to Instagram this place to death. I was able to visit all parts of the galleries. It was really interesting to see the T. rex again and they have made changes to reflect new research on beings. I got to walk through their gift shop which I think is one of the best in the City. Still I wish they would update more of the museum.

The Movie Was Better… - If you are going with expectations set by the movie “Night at the Museum” prepare to be disappointed. Most exhibits are taxidermy behind glass cases. Nothing is interactive so it didn’t hold the attention of myself or my kids.

Do not use any company other than directly with he musuem. - This wasted so much of our time, especially with a one and three year old. If you buy from Expedia, Viator or anywhere EXCEPT directly from the museum—you have to wait in line to get your actual ticket. It took over an hour just to do this. Anyone who hadn’t purchased a ticket got theirs directly thru the museum in 10 min or less.
