Don did a great job on the our tour of Charleston. As a multi generational Charlestonian he was able to provide personalized stories to the city and history. We very much enjoyed our small group and the extra conversations we were able to have with Don. This is our 5th Ghost City tour (New Orleans, Savannah and Charleston) and would highly recommend them. They have been the best by far of all tours we have done.
Lance was so entertaining and our group had the best time! The stories and history of the town was awesome! High recommend this tour!
Don was a great guide. Lots of knowledge about Charleston
Guide was punctual and very knowledgeable of the subject matter. The guide displayed a sincere interest and answered/verified questions and facts. Great job!
Lance was great and kept it interesting during the tour. He took time to answer other questions about the city. A must if visiting!
Lance was a great story teller and we enjoyed every second of our tour!
Not very entertaining. Altho the guide was a very nice person. It was not an exciting tour except for the dueling alley.
Lance was awesome, although he sort of ruined all ghost tours after for us because he is SO good. We're in Savannah now and went on one last night, and we just kept saying, 'we miss Lance' :-)
Lance was amazing! He really knows the history of Charleston, and shared it with us in an informative yet humorous manner. We loved the tour, and will plan on joining Lance again next time we are in Charleston!
Very Charming and Entertaining! A great history lesson and a wonderful way to see the downtown area.
According to the description of the tour, I thought there was more to it than received. It was supposed to be about the seedier side of Charleston and it was a tour that was so interesting but did not meet the written description given.
We always enjoy our visits to Charleston, especially learning about it's past and seeing the historical buildings. The Death and Depravity tour provided both, and our guide, Lance, was terrific! His knowledge of the city's history and the unabashed way he talk about it's seedy past made it one of the best trips we've ever had. The following day we visited several of the places that were part of the tour (including the Provost Dungeon), and we also took a tour of the old city jail, as Lance had recommended. Both were awesome to see and led to this being the best time we've ever had in Charleston. We would definitely recommend the Death and Depravity tour to our friends.
Our guide Lance was awesome! He was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also had a great sense of humor! Even my husband who was less than thrilled to go ended up having a great time! I was truly impressed with the history Lance knew, there was not a single question he could not answer with extreme detail. He did a great job of making it seem very personal, by the end of the tour he knew everyone's name. The only problem was the tour felt short because we were having a great time, I think that it could have been a three hour tour and I would have left still wishing we had another hour left!
Lance was extremely funny and very informative. You could tell he was having a great time while he was working!
Wasn't as scary as the description made it seem, but Will was very knowledgeable about Charleston and it's history. He was very prideful in the city and you can tell he really enjoys telling people about the city.
Our tour was historically interesting, but the description you give for the tour "death and depravity" is misleading. This was basically a history of the city .. nothing more really. Certainly nothing to justify the extra $$$ for this tour over your competition. Our guide knew her history, but, bearing in mind the time of day and the sites we visited, she delivered with little or no feeling and failed to set an environment of excitement and mystique. Please don't blame the guide, she did her best .. but for that kind of delivery (and I think you owe it to us as customers), you need an actor, and one that can deliver with passion. If you want an example, go to the local plantation and listen to the black lady who talks about slaves. Now that is delivery! Finally, again for the $$ we paid, the guides should make an effort to dress in period costume. If you are going to do this .. really go the whole way. Your customers will love you for it! I hope this helps! Ross.
Loved Lance, funny and informative but I feel like there needed to be more ghost stories and stops along the route.
The tour was hilarious and informative. Had a great time!
I learned alot historically, however it did not feel like a ghost tour. It felt like a history lesson. I would recommend finding places that you can visit off of the main streets where cars are driving past, and people are walking in and around the groups. It was r
Great fun on a Saturday night after visiting the Aquarium and Fort Sumter earlier in the day. Macy was entertaining right down to the core-pse ;). Being from Baltimore, was intrigued by the Poe tragedy. We went back in the daylight to see a few of the places and took the dungeon tour and saw the Isaac Hayne room after hearing Macy alluringly tell the tales.
Fun and very informative
He was amazing, he was full of information and knew a lot about the town. We learned so much from him, I would say we learned more on his tour than we did on our other 2 tours combined.
Lance was a great tour guide, but I think the tour would have been more fun if it was not over-booked.
Raymond gave us an informative and spooky tour. It was one of the best experiences that I had on my vacation at Charleston. I would definitely go again.
Lance shared a lot of great stories and was very good at it. He took the time to answer questions and get involved with group.
This was a great tour! Full of fascinating and intriguing stories that kept us engaged the whole time. Lance's storytelling ability is top-notch that mixed a great deal of history, supernatural, and great humor. He and his partner were kind and helpful throughout the tour. Would recommend this tour and tour guide in an instant.
Lance did an excellent job giving us a lot of history of Charleston and his personality made it that much more enjoyable. I would have given him 6 stars but he couldn't get any actual ghosts to appear.
Lance was a great guide and storyteller! The only thing was if we could have visited more of the advertised sites.
Advertising made it seem it was going to be scary. Not sure why it was a 16 an older. Very PG ghost story telling.
