1. At the start, we got a call for our tour pick-up at 12:30 (the email we received said to meet at the pickup spot at the Avenue Hotel between 12:45-55). We were still on our way to the pickup spot so the driver said they’d swing around to another hotel and come back for us. We got a call five minutes later from the same bus driver asking us where we were and explaining that we needed go get going because the trip was half hour in traffic etc. At this point, it was not yet 12:45 pm but we felt that we had to practically beg the driver to wait just a few more minutes before departing without us. Again this was before the agreed pickup time window. We actually met the driver at the Indigo Hotel (short way away from the Avenue hotel) exactly on time. 2. Our airboat broke down right as we were entering the swamp. Our guide handled the whole situation very well, knew what the issue was and called in for a rescue right away but it still took 20-25 minutes for our new boat to arrive. That was 20 mins in the direct sun with little to no shade. We had sunscreen and water but both ran put quickly in the heat. Our guide apologized for the boat breaking down and the lack of water on the boat. As the tours are usually 45 mins I guess extra water isn’t provided on the boats for emergency situations. Luckily our new boat arrived finally and we set off through the swamp. Our guide stopped at our first sighting of an alligator to interact with it and let us get up and take pictures (thankfully in the shade). But after this we maybe stopped to see one more alligator before speeding back to the docks. We thought our tour guide was great but we honestly felt like the whole tour was rushed in the end and didn’t quite get the experience for which we paid extra. We were rushed back on to our shuttle as soon as we docked (it had been waiting for us we guess) and we’re dropped back off at the avenue hotel with good pictures of the two alligators but bit heat stricken and ultimately had to cancel the rest of our evening plans.

This was a very organized outing. Lots of people, but easy to assess what we were to do and had a great trip out on the water!

The whole experience from the pickup at the hotel to the drop off was top notch. It was run efficiently - the guide was extremely knowledgeable And the air boats were very comfortable.
