Clear and sensationalism presentation and tour of significant sites - Malika was knowledgeable about the cultures of New Orleans, provided a respectful description of Voudou, and provided resources for clients wanting more. I appreciated her clear explanations and her sensationalism free presentation. Thank you

Great educational tour from someone within the tradition. - Great to get a non-hollywood-ized perspective on vodou from a practitioner themselves. I appreciated how real and informative Malika was. I hate tours that are watered down for entertainment rather than education, and this was definitely educational. Recommended for anyone who wants to actually walk away having learned something!

TRANSFORMATIVE EXPERIENCE - This tour by Anansi's Daughters was intimate, informative and inclusive. We had tourists from all walks of life in our group, and our tour guide took the time to connect with each of us, and make us feel welcomed in the religion; in the lifestyle that is Voodoo. She dispelled the rumors of Voodoo, as well as the stereotypes and blatant untruths. She unearthed the history of the practice and origins, and made it clear that the intention of Voodoo and spiritual connections are for the good and guidance of people rather than the harm and evil that has been portrayed. I was already interested in the history of New Orleans and Voodoo, but after this tour, my friends and I have gained a new appreciation for the lore, and we are forever grateful for all the tour guide was generous enough to share with us. I am excited to learn, and feel even more.

Enlightening and informational - This tour with Malika was extremely interesting. I learned a lot and many misconceptions were corrected. It completely changed my view of VooDoo. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in facts over fiction.

Butterflies, Ancestors, and the Egun Tree - This unforgettable walking tour offers more than just a glimpse into New Orleans’ voodoo culture—it opens a doorway into the deep roots of African Traditional Religions (ATRs), honoring both ancestry and spirituality. Led by High Priestess Malika, the experience felt authentic, respectful, and alive. Her energy and knowledge captivated our group from start to finish, and she welcomed every question with care and clarity. One of the most powerful moments was visiting the sacred Egun tree—I truly felt its energy. A beautiful surprise: the appearance of butterflies (you’ll have to take the tour to learn why they matter). We also stopped by the home of Marie Laveau - a memorable moment. If you're curious about voodoo beyond the myths, this tour is a must. It’s spiritual, historical, and deeply human. Highly recommend.

Miss the French Quarter "voodoo" nonsense - THIS is the tour you want to go on! - This is such a vital tour for understanding New Orleans, and to a larger extent the US - don't waste your time w/ French Quarter "voodoo" related things & doing this first as a baseline - Malika was an amazing guide & her depth of knowledge, based in her actual practice rather than some passing interest/commodification, was such a gift to our experience! Cannot recommend this enough for folks open & willing to learn!
