This tour offers a unique combination of the private Manchac Swamp and the Whitney Plantation. Whitney Plantation, established in 1752, opened to the public a decade ago as the only plantation museum in Louisiana solely dedicated to the history of slavery. The Whitney experience is a self-guided audio tour, providing visitors with a distinctive insight into the lives of the enslaved individuals who lived and worked there, through museum exhibits, restored historic buildings, and numerous first-person accounts.

Following this, a brief journey leads to a privately-owned wildlife refuge in the Manchac Swamp. Here, local Cajun captains will transport you back to the early days of swamp exploration. They will navigate a covered pontoon boat through the enchanting cypress swamp, showcasing the American Alligator and diverse wildlife.
