St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 - Visiting New Orleans during the hot month of August didn’t stop us from exploring all that this amazing city has to offer, and the St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 Official Walking Tour was one of the excursions we were so glad we included. If you’re interested in history and want to learn more about New Orleans and its fascinating past, this is definitely a tour for you. Walking through the cemetery felt like stepping back into the 19th century, while our knowledgeable guide shared fascinating stories, historical facts, and interesting details that brought the cemetery and the city’s history to life. Despite the August heat, the tour was thoughtfully organized. Tents with sprinklers were provided to help alleviate the heat, which made the experience much more comfortable. We found the entire tour both educational and fascinating. And, of course, stopping by the grave of Marie Laveau is a must! It was a memorable experience and a great way to discover another fascinating part of New Orleans’ rich history.
