• Gardette-LePretre Mansion - This 183-year-old mansion features a half-basement with sidewalk-level windows and striking cast-iron filigree balconies on its upper floors, making it one of the most photographed buildings in the French Quarter. Its haunting history, involving a sultan, a stolen harem, and mass murder, adds to its unique place in New Orleans history. It is also known as The Sultan’s House.
• Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre - Le Petit Theatre is home to a variety of ghosts, including Union soldiers, a theater manager, a nun, and an actress who took her own life. The spirits make their presence known by mysteriously opening and closing doors and causing wine bottles to fly off shelves.
• Muriel’s Jackson Square - At this French Quarter restaurant, guests dine among the spirits of New Orleans’s past. Before serving delicious goat cheese crepes, the building was believed to have been a holding facility for slaves in the early 1700s. In 1788, the Great New Orleans Fire partially destroyed the original structure. The new owner, Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan, spent years restoring it into a family home. In 1814, he tragically lost the house in a poker game and died by suicide on the second floor.
