Yum and Fun! - Had a great walking food tour, history lesson, and geography lesson. Susan was very knowledgeable and friendly. She moved us along with numerous stories. We ended the tour with a cooking class at the NO Culinary School where we enjoyed gumbo, jambalaya, and pralines. The Chef was great, very casual and presented a "chemistry lesson" about food preparation. We had so much food that we rolled out and then skipped dinner. Highly recommend.

Well worth the $$ and 5.5 hours of time investment! - My husband and I enjoyed this tour immensely. It was actually two separate experiences and well worth the $$ and 5.5 hours of time investment during our visit to the French Quarter. Our guide for the walking food tour--Susan--was excellent! We had 11 people in our group and she paced the time between food items and walking so very well. Each of our 6 items were authentic NOLA cuisine. Susan also explained the background for the foods we ate including Cajan, Creole, Gumbo... it was very educational. Glad this tour was early in our visit to the city as she gave us restaurant suggestions for elsewhere, outside of the French Quarter. The second portion of the tour was held at the New Orleans School of Cooking. In a 2-hour timeframe, Chef Eric prepared traditional Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Pralines. WOW! Even though we had tried gumbo during the walking tour, this gumbo was a slightly different version and it was outstanding!!! Even with that said, the jambalaya was even better. Chef Eric was so entertaining while he prepared the food. Highly recommend!

A highlight of our time in NOLA - It was like a progressive dinner with each course being excellent. There was sufficient time to savor each food while learning some history of NO and its culture at the same time.

Samples of traditional... - Samples of traditional New Orleans cuisine are defined and provided. Our guide Milton was entertaining and extremely informative about many aspects of the city's history and about the people who live here. Make sure you come hungry!

Wonderful time! - I wish I had done this the first day that I arrived because it gave me many good ideas of what I would like to do with my time in Nola. We had a wonderful tour. The cooking class was also excellent. I would recommend doing the two on two separate days rather than together as the tour fills you up too much for lunch at the cooking class.

Awesome tour! - Definitely well worth the experience and a great sampling of New Orleans: the variety of food, the history, and the culture. Jack was our tour guide and kept us on schedule and laughing throughout our day. He's wonderful! The cooking lesson was not hands on but Vivian, our chef, was entertaining and informative at the same time. And, of course, the food she created was delicious. I'm looking forward to trying the recipes myself when I get home. These folks really put a lot of time in organizing and prepared our tour with love. Oh, and wear comfortable shoes!
