Great. Go! - Add this to your to do list! Awesome tour and opportunity to lean about the experience of those living in urban enslavement. Tour is great for locals or tourists regardless of what you think you know about historic homes, history, enslavement, etc. You will leave with new learnings and peaked curiosity to learn even more. Guides are great. I've had Robert and Anna and gold star for both. They don't just regurgitate a script but personalize the core information shared and incorporate questions and comments from guests into the narrative. Check out the Gallier house as well. Different theme and focus but a similar experience.

Excellent time invested in New Orleans’ history! - The tour Guide is wonderful she was very open to questions and very well documented. Kelsy with her narrative allow us to live in the past and to see the hard life of people slaved and in the contrast the opulent life of the owner of the house… sadness and history. Wonderful experience

Urban Enslavement - No matter what is believed Urban enslavement was just as brutal. The ironing and resewing of sleeves. The cooking 12-16 hours a day. The caring for the children, all children to about the age of five with you own child that could be sold by age 10 years old. Horrible. Sad. But the interesting revelation is that some.had been granted freedom and being enslaved for over 40 years and being sold to pay off debts and being bought back. I cannot ever imagine. It was a good historical tour. Loved the recipes.

Ruinned by a chatty katty - Out of the many tours I experienced during my visit to New Orleans this time, I did not enjoy this one. While the tour guide did seem knowledgeable; the gentleman kept getting interrupted constantly by a lady who stated quite often that she had just left another tour. She just wouldn’t stop with the interruptions! Do to her comparisons from her tour. It was so difficult to hear the tour guide unless you were quite close to him. Honestly it was quite annoying and disappointing, to no fault of his on own.
