Challenging, rewarding and THE most amazing views! - I don’t quite know how to put this into words without getting a little emotional… but the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek gave us memories I know we’ll be talking about for years. Let’s start with the truth… it’s challenging. There are a lot of steps (like… a LOT 😅). There were points where we were digging deep, especially as a family with two teenage girls. But this is one of those experiences where the harder it feels, the more rewarding it becomes. Every step gives you something back. Sunrise at Poon Hill was incredible and we were beyond lucky with the weather. Not a cloud in the sky! Standing there, watching the light slowly hit the mountains, turning them gold – it’s one of those rare, quiet, goosebump moments. The kind that makes everything else just stop for a second. That will stay with us forever. I even had a little tear! And one of my favourite memories from that moment – our guide Suraj appearing with hot drinks for me and my daughter at the top. It was chilly, we were emotional, and it was just so thoughtful. One of those small things that actually becomes a big thing. I can’t talk about this trek without talking about Suraj. He was honestly incredible. Kind, calm, always watching out for everyone… never once making anyone feel rushed or left behind. He had this lovely way of gently encouraging our girls (15 and 17), keeping them going when it got tough, even taking their bags when they needed a bit of help. And he somehow always knew where the best photo spots were – like our own personal photographer at 3,200m 😄 The views are just incredible throughout – mountains, valleys, waterfalls, wildlife… we saw monkeys, yaks, donkeys, horses, buffaloes. But the biggest surprise for us? The rhododendron forests. They are not talked about enough. Honestly some of the most beautiful forests we’ve ever walked through – full of colour and life. If you can go end of March / beginning of April… do it. They are in full bloom and just magical. The only thing we’d say is – really talk through your route with your guide before you set off. Our Day 3 was a long one… and we felt pretty exhausted by the end. But… it did mean Day 4 started gently and we got those clear mountain views before the clouds rolled in – which ended up being such a gift. So it’s just about finding what works for your family. Also worth chatting about: • Teahouses – our first two nights had incredible views, the third not quite as special, but there were definitely options with better outlooks • Pacing – don’t be afraid to tailor it None of that took away from the the fact that this trip felt like more than just a trek. It was time together, proper connection, lots of giggles (and a few “we can’t do this” moments that we absolutely did do). We loved every minute. And we feel very, very lucky we got to experience it – especially with Suraj by our side. 💛

The kindest guide Laku! - My friend and I set off to do the Poon Hill trek a couple days ago with our guide Laku, but I soon came down with a bad illness. Laku was an angel and handled it in the best possible way. He arranged last minute travel and accommodation immediately, and took care of me very well, bringing food and tea to my room while I was bed ridden. He was very flexible and communicated the whole way, giving options and asking us what we needed, as well as being a generally lovely, friendly guy who kept our spirits high. For instance, while I was resting, he took my friend around Ghandruk and to the museum so she still could enjoy her time if not trekking. Despite the unpredictable circumstances, Laku went above and beyond for us, making sure we got back to Pokhara safely with accommodation sorted, and that I got the right medical attention, even accompanying us to the doctor and then back to our hotel. Thank you Laku, we hope to return to Nepal to trek with you in the next couple years!

Wonderful hike, easy logistics - A very rewarding multi-day hike with world-class views. The hike requires some effort but the schedule is not aggressive, I am not an athlete and we were consistently ahead of schedule. Weather was fantastic in February although temperatures will cool down at night this time of year. My guide Surya was excellent with communication, secured me some of the best views available at our lodging, and even let me use his portable charger for my phone when I stupidly forgot an adapter. I am already looking forward to trying a longer and more challenging roite in the future.

An Unforgettable Trek with the Best Guide Anos - I recently completed a 3-day trek as a solo female traveler, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My guide, Anos, was not only incredibly helpful but also so caring throughout the entire journey. He even carried my bag at times when the trail became particularly difficult, making the trek feel much easier. He took us to some wonderful tea houses along the way, ensuring we were well-fed and comfortable. When the trail got slippery, he was always there with a helping hand. On top of that, he made sure my room had the best possible views of the area – a beautiful touch. His positive energy and fun attitude made the trek all the more enjoyable. I’m so grateful for his support and for such a memorable adventure!
