It is home to species such as the Little Egret, Yellow Bittern, Spoonbill, Purple Coot, Ruffs, Indian Stone Curlew, and even the Ceylon Lorikeet. The peacock may grace the dry plains of the park with its dance as a gentle drizzle showers the wilderness. Then, continue to Sigiriya.
