SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS

Athugala Rock - As you journey inland, you’ll stop at the Kurunegala Rock Viewpoint, where panoramic vistas stretch far across lush green hills and rustic towns. Nearby, the tranquil Kurunegala Lake offers a peaceful moment of reflection before the cultural adventures ahead.

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - In the golden light of the afternoon, you’ll visit one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landmarks, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and marvel of ancient engineering.

Rising majestically from the jungle, this colossal rock once housed the palace of King Kasyapa (477–495 AD). As you ascend its winding stairways, you’ll pass ancient frescoes, water gardens, and the famous Lion’s Gate. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular sunset views across the forest canopy and rolling plains—a truly unforgettable sight.

KINGDOM OF POLONNARUWA / MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK

Polonnaruwa - Step back in time as you explore the magnificent ancient city of Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital of Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Chosen by King Vijayabahu in 1070 as the seat of his kingdom, Polonnaruwa flourished with temples, palaces, and statues that still whisper tales of a glorious past.

The best way to soak in the grandeur of this archaeological treasure? On two wheels. Hop on a bicycle and meander through time-worn stone pathways, shaded ruins, and serene reservoirs. It’s a peaceful, awe-inspiring way to connect with the spirit of ancient Lanka.

Dambulla Cave Temple - After breakfast, visit the magnificent Royal Cave Temple complex in Dambulla, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and a cornerstone of Sri Lankan Buddhism.
