Negombo offers three fishing modes: deep sea, lagoon, or inland. Deep sea fishing is the most popular due to its challenges and higher yield. Two methods are used for deep sea fishing: trolling and anchor fishing. Trolling involves trailing one or more fishing lines or nets with bait or lures behind a moving boat or manually moving them side to side. This method is particularly effective in the morning. Anchor fishing involves anchoring the boat to a stationary object like a coral reef or rocky area and casting lines.
The tour concludes at 0900 hrs in the morning or 1800 hrs in the evening.
