Possibly life-changing - visit a place that changed all of Christendom! - First of all - make no mistake: this is a barebones tour - don't expect a luxury vehicle, fancy lunch... - but if you want to see the most important monastic sites in the world and speak with the monks themselves (who are the real stars of this tour - dedicated, devoted and fascinating people), this is the way to do it. I went with a lot of background in monasticism and this rounded it out in a way I couldn't have anticipated. My husband went with no background and said he learned a tremendous amount - and came away with a newfound respect for the religious life (this from someone who already has a good friend who is a Cistercian monk). Many thanks to Wahel and Ahmed (our tour coordinator and driver)!
