All Aboard the Big Bus Adventure!

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for activities that cater to all ages, and the Big Bus Private Tour was a perfect fit for our family. With a group of 20, ranging from my youngest at 6 to my sprightly 67-year-old mother-in-law, we were ready to explore Nassau in style. As we climbed, Clever shared stories of the staircase’s history and its significance to the island. It was a humbling experience, and the view from the top was breathtaking.

We continued our historical exploration with a stop at Fort Fincastle. Built in 1793, the fort offered stunning views of Nassau and Paradise Island. The kids loved pretending to be pirates, while the adults appreciated the fort’s strategic importance in protecting the city from real pirates back in the day. Clever’s tales of pirate lore added an extra layer of excitement to our visit.

A Taste of Nassau’s Local Flavors

No trip to Nassau would be complete without a visit to John Watling’s Distillery. The adults in our group enjoyed sampling the hand-crafted rum, while the kids were entertained by the distillery’s charming resident cats. Clever’s insights into the distillery’s history and the rum-making process were enlightening, and it was a delightful way to experience a piece of Nassau’s local culture.

Our final stop was the Atlantis Casino, where we marveled at the world’s largest open-air marine habitat. The kids were thrilled by the Aquaventure water park, and we all enjoyed a leisurely stroll along the magnificent beaches. It was the perfect way to end our tour, with everyone feeling relaxed and happy.
