Pleasant 3-hour tour on a real sternwheel riverboat - My wife and I took the noon tour from Opryland and back on the General Jackson on a Sunday in August 2026. It was a very nice tour. We parked right across from the landing in the Opryland parking lot and walked right on to the showboat. We enjoyed talking with one of the deckhands as we cast off. A nice buffet lunch was served. We ate kind of light for unrelated reasons, but thought the chicken and salad was good. So was dessert. The ride from Opryland down the river to Nashville was nice, and when we turned around to go back to Opryland, we picked up a pack of jet-ski'ers who played in the wake of the riverboat most of the way. The kids loved this. After lunch a really good show was performed. The kids enjoyed it too. We sort of sat back and enjoyed watching the performers just play for their own pleasure (it really seemed like they were just having fun). The musical performance lasted until about 10 minutes before the boat docked for us to disembark.

Excellent! - We had a wonderful time. If you're looking for something different to do, this is perfect. We booked a seat at the Captains Table. This included a visit to the pilot house, where the Captain told us about navigating the river, and what it takes to turn the big vessel around. We were able to be the first through the buffet line, and the food was very tasty. Finally we were treated to an incredible musical revue. Very professional, with beautiful costumes. My husband and I are so glad we booked on the General Jackson

Great show - Loved the food and show! Unfortunately the boat was broken down so we did not get to experience the trip up and down the river. But the food and show was great! They did it well.

Docked but fun - We used the complimentary shuttle service to the boat so we didn't have to fight mall parking. The boat had engine issues and we were called earlier to let us know the boat couldn't sail. We were offered full refund or stay at dock with full dinner & show with refund of $25 each. We went! Food was good, show was great & servers were fabulous. This was 2nd time and would definitely go again.

The food was delicious,... - The food was delicious, the staff were extremely friendly, and the show was very nice. However, the air temperature was extremely chilly to the point where many of the visitors were wearing tablecloths to keep warm.

Good but cold - Unfortunately the boat didnt sail as there was some mechanical problem..the show went on though..food and show were excellent but it was freezing...the air conditioning must have been set to the coldest possible. Everyone at our table complained but the air-conditioning was not altered. It did spoil the enjoyment. It wasn't just our table that was cold..lots were using the cotton napkins as shawls!! Just take a jacket with you if you're going..just incase. !

Don't wast your money - The majority of the cruse there was little to no scenery until you went under Highway 24 bridge then you were able to see downtown for about 15-20 minutes but that was in the middle of having dinner. So you had to pick do you want to eat or do you wanna see the little bit of scenery there was. The food was subpar. You could barely cut the brisket with a knife. The remainder of the cruise was the return trip? This is when they had their stage show. Unfortunately, this was subpar also we felt there were several people lip syncing you could barley hear them. The best part of the cruse was the band the guitar and fiddle were great.
