One of the BEST Christmas events in Nashville! - Given some of the poor reviews over the years on this platform, I went with skepticism. Shame on you guys who gave them bad reviews! This was by far one of the most fun events we participated in in Nashville! We went on the Christmas dinner cruise and paid the 35$ (or so) increase in ticket for Captain's Table seating (tables 9 and 10). DEFINATELY worth the splurge. We had the benefit of no lines, early boarding, pilot house tour, souvenir drink cups (filled with a non alcoholic festive beverage ). Tables 9 and 10 had their own waiting server who was very attentive to our needs. We were served pre dinner salads, and then were the first to be allowed to go up to the buffet to build our plates. The food on the buffet was fabulous. A wide array of vegetables, starches, rolls and our choice of chicken or freshly carved brisket (which was outstanding). Captains Table seating included upgraded desserts which were slices of a wonderful chocolate turtle cake with caramel drizzle. After dinner our captain announced that we were sailing into Nashville and we ran out onto the decks to view Nashville from an entirely different perspective. It was mesmerizing. The Gen. Jackson turns in Nashville and once we turned and started back to Opry Mills, there was an announcement to take our seats for the show. Our table 9 was one row away from the stage and the show was spectacular! Vintage Christmas songs, a few news ones and the ending ones reflecting the religious celebration (the reason for the season!) of Christmas. All of the singers constantly changing beautifully sparkly costumes. We absolutely loved it. Captain's Table guests were also given their choice of a souvenir T Shirt or Captain's hat. So So fun!!! We are going to book again for the 4th of July dinner cruise so we don't have to deal with Nashville Traffic to see one of the best firework displays in the country!

Fun afternoon - What a great time. Steamboat beautiful and interior very large. Band playing was excellent on the lunch cruise and the show in the dining room excellent as well. Great way to spend an afternoon. Not very accommodating for handicapped people though. They have an elevator to top floor though. Lots of steps to get around.

Fun Fall Foliage Cruise! - Our group had an amazing time on the General Jackson Showboat Fall Foliage Cruise! Cruise was scheduled as an outdoor event, but due to the weather, guests were moved inside and enjoyed the full Tennessee Legends show! What an unexpected treat! We give a shout out to David for his friendly, attentive service that added more enjoyment to our trip. We deeply appreciate the General Jackson staff and crew for expert management of the change in plans. Excellent plan B, y'all!

Good way to spend the evening - It was easy to book. We received a call before the trip to tell us where the bus would pick us up (at our hotel). Very short wait times. Food was okay and the show was okay.

Well a truly... - Well a truly disappointing waste of money. The experience started out ok with my collection from the hotel and I thought “this will be a nice evening” Once on the boat and we sat down and that for me is when it went down hill. The whole thing from there felt like a rushed and inconvenient hassle. The starter was literally a plate of salad leaves (about 5 cent worth). Just literally plain salad leaves on their own with nothing else. Our drinks (water on the table had a horrid taste to it, like it was old or from an old water container. No other complimentary drinks of any sort ( £117 ??) Then the main course started. We had to que like being at a food bank and plate our own meal. Again it was a rushed experience with copious amounts of beige food ( Mac and cheese ) and a little bit of meat. The waiting staff were hovering around and tried to take plates away whilst other were still eating. That for me was when my patience ended and as we got to down town I would have happily got off the boat. Once the boat had turned around we started to head back and desert was served. This was then left on the table and not cleared away ( unlike the starter etc) and it wasn’t anything special either. Any drinks ordered were additionally charged, including coffee etc. So I really doubted the costing, for me it felt like a £50 experience at best. The show on the return leg was ok and it felt like that was the main priority with the food and drinks phase being the pain and now out of the way for the crew. Of course we all have different expectations and opinions, and of course this is my view. But in terms of value for money and experience I wouldn’t rate it personally and I wouldn’t recommend it.
