- Carter House - Visit the Carter House, located at the heart of the Union position during the battle. The house and its outbuildings still bear hundreds of bullet holes.
- Carnton - Enjoy some leisure time in the charming town of Franklin to shop, dine (at your own expense), and explore other historic sites. Then, proceed to the Carnton Plantation, which was designated as a Confederate field hospital by a Southern General and later transformed into a lasting memorial to Confederate soldiers by the lady of the house.
Today, the plantation hosts the largest private Confederate cemetery in the United States. Tour the plantation with your guide and hear detailed accounts of the battle and the war’s aftermath. After the tour, you will be returned to your Nashville hotel.
- Lotz House Museum - At the Lotz House, which served as a hospital post-battle, observe cannonball holes and bloodstains on the floors and walls, testifying to the brutal nature of this tragic conflict.
