Mt. Fuji 5th Station - Located 2300 meters above sea level, the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station provides a breathtaking view of the Fuji Five Lakes area, making it a favored destination even for those not climbing the mountain. The entrance fee is 2100¥ per group.
-
Oshino Hakkai - Oshino Hakkai is a quaint Japanese village in the Fuji Five Lake region, nestled between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako. It sits on the site of a former lake that dried up centuries ago. The eight ponds are nourished by snowmelt from Mount Fuji, filtering through lava layers for over 80 years, resulting in pristine spring water cherished by locals. Visitors can enjoy fresh spring water from Mt. Fuji and, weather permitting, a close view of the mountain.
-
Oishi Park - Situated on the north shore of Kawaguchiko, Oishi Park offers a stunning view of both the lake and Mt. Fuji.
-
Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine - This shrine is one of approximately 1,300 Asama shrines in Japan, dedicated to the deity of volcanoes, particularly Mount Fuji. It is part of the Mt. Fuji UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, recognized in 2013. Asama shrines honor Konohanasakuya-hime, the goddess of Mt. Fuji and volcanoes in Japanese mythology. Most Asama shrines are within sight of Mt. Fuji; where this is not possible, miniature replicas made from mountain rocks are placed within the shrine grounds.
-
Lake Yamanaka - Yamanakako, the largest of the Fuji Five Lakes, features the “Swan Lake” sightseeing boat, formerly known as “Princess Odette.” The boat, designed to resemble a swan, offers a picturesque cruise at the base of Mt. Fuji.
-
Narusawa Ice Cave - Located at the east entrance of the Aokigahara Jukai “sea of trees” forest, the Narusawa Hyoketsu Ice Cave is a year-round tourist attraction in the Fuji Five Lakes area. Formed over 1150 years ago during the Jogan era, the cave was created by lava flow from a Mt. Fuji eruption. Designated a natural monument in 1929, it is renowned for its geological significance. The tree-type lava bed is noted for having the most spiracles worldwide. Entrance tickets are not included.
-
Fugaku Wind Cave - Nestled in the lush Aokigahara Jukai forest, the Fuji Fugaku Wind Cave remains cool even in summer, with an average temperature of 3℃. Historically used as a refrigerator for silkworm eggs, it is a designated Japanese natural monument. The 201m long and 8.7m high cave does not produce an echo due to its sound-absorbing basaltic walls. A 15-minute tour reveals lava shelves, rope-like lava, and ice pillars that remain frozen even in summer.
-
Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba - Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba is a restored thatched-roof village offering stunning views of the four seasons and the grandeur of Mt. Fuji. Visitors can enjoy a rich and tasteful experience.
