Maasai Mara National Reserve - After a 7:30 am pick-up from the hotel or airport, enjoy a picturesque drive into the Great Rift Valley, continuing to Maasai Mara, Kenya’s top game reserve (approximately 5 hours drive). There will be a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to take in the breathtaking views of the world’s largest valley, which is said to be visible from space. This stop also provides an opportunity to refresh. As the journey continues to the valley floor, enjoy the stunning views of Masai country, catching glimpses of vibrant herdsmen along the way as the reserve approaches. Arrival at Masai Mara is around lunchtime, with a meal at Enchoro safari camp. Then, prepare to explore the vast expanse and vibrant wildlife populations of this great reserve, renowned as one of the world’s great ecosystems with unmatched wildlife diversity. Predators, prey, and grazers of all sizes fill the rolling hills and savannahs of this beautiful park. Enjoy the first game drive, an introduction to the Mara.

FULL DAY- MASAI MARA

Mara River - Start the day with an early morning breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its black-maned lions and the annual wildebeest migration. It is likely one of Kenya’s most visited reserves, boasting an extraordinary density of animals, including the Big Five and many other varieties of plains game. The Mara River flows through the Mara and Serengeti ecosystems, sustaining both reserves before eventually emptying into Lake Victoria. The wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle instinct-driven Great Migration (July-October) from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara in Kenya is particularly impressive. Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue with the game drives, returning to the camp in the evening. Enhance the Masai Mara experience with an optional cultural visit to a Maasai village or an early morning hot air balloon ride over the reserve.

MASAI MARA-NAIROBI (265kms-5hrs)

Nairobi - After breakfast, begin the journey back to Nairobi, Kenya’s vibrant city. Along the way, spot Mt. Longonot, an extinct stratovolcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. It is believed to have last erupted in the 1860s, and its name is derived from the Masai word Oloonong’ot, meaning “mountains of many spurs” or “steep ridges.” There is an option to drive via Lake Naivasha for lunch or excursions at an additional cost, or drive directly to Nairobi and visit Fairview Coffee Farm for a coffee farm tour at an extra cost, or head straight back to the capital and later transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for the flight home.
