Depart from Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, and descend the escarpment via the picturesque Great Rift Valley to Narok for lunch. Continue to Masai Mara for check-in at the camp. Full day in Masai Mara with game viewing drives to spot the Big Five, plains game, and possibly the wildebeest migration

Mara River - Following an early breakfast, set out for a full day of game drives in search of Africa’s Big Five and the diverse wildlife inhabiting this expansive Kenyan game reserve. The Mara offers stunning orange-tinged sunsets perfect for photography. Throughout the vast Masai Mara, abundant wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, wildebeests, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos can be seen. Lions are often spotted basking after a meal or scanning the plains for their next prey. Cheetahs and leopards are less visible but fairly common. The highlight is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration, the Great Migration, from July to October when millions of these grazers move north from the Serengeti in search of lush grass. A stop at the Mara River allows for viewing of hippos and crocodiles. During the Wildebeest Migration, much time is spent watching the wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River, where crocodiles lie in wait. Return for dinner and overnight at Lenchada Tourist Camp, B, L, D.

Return to Nairobi from Masai Mara, 5 to 6 hours after an exhilarating Kenya safari experience

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Enjoy breakfast at the camp before checking out. An optional visit to a local Maasai Village for a cultural tour is available at an additional cost, payable directly. Drive back to Nairobi, arriving around 3 to 4 pm. Drop off at your hotel, B, L.

By sharing the safari van with others, your journey is made as cost-effective as possible. You take part in communal game drives and potentially share tents if necessary.
