More than a basic Tour - Jose was incredible! He took the time to answer all of my questions, give me detailed information about each of the inhabitants, and how they found themselves at the rescue, and generally make me feel so welcomed. If you have any interest in wildlife conservation, the Costa Rican ecosystems, or saving animals...this tour is for you!

Ideal for seeing animals up close - Great place to go with the family. You have hours of 9, 11 and 13 to visit the place. There were 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 children of 4 and 6 and the value was 200 usd. It is very cute.

Very well-run and ethical organization! - We had a great time here, and Jose was especially knowledgeable about the animals and their histories. Any animals in the sanctuary cannot be released and therefore will live out their lives here. It's very clean and the animals have great enrichment. They also care for animals who will be released but they are not part of the tour (for good reason). It's clear this organization is doing things right!

Incredible family activity - We are so thrilled about our experience at KSTR. The staff is friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. Most importantly, they care about the animals dearly and it shows with the work they do. This was a unique experience that we will never forget. Our 4 year old loved all of the animals; especially the monkeys and sloths.

Would definitely recommend supporting this place! - Our tour guide Jose’ was great! KSTR is doing a lot to help injured/ confiscated animals. I saw another review about how sad it was too see all the animals in cages but I felt this was different, they are doing their best to rehab these animals or if they can’t be released to the wild then obviously the cage is where they will have to live but the team there does their best to keep the animals happy and healthy. More support = more money to improve the place! It’s a bit of a drive from Quepos but worth it to support this cause!

For animal lovers! - The tour of the sanctuary was informative and so fun! Our guide José was incredible - taught us fun facts about the animals and showed us how the sanctuary runs. My husband and I are veterinarians, and we wanted to see these wild animals up close while also giving our money to a good cause. The facilities are well run - providing enrichment and good nutrition daily for these amazing animals. We can tell that they truly care about the animals! Highly recommend visiting - they also end the tour with delicious fruit and juice!
