- Waiapu Anglican Cathedral, Napier, New Zealand - The cathedral’s first stone was laid in 1886, following a traditional English design, and completed in 1888. During a communion service on February 3, 1931, the building was completely destroyed, resulting in one fatality. A temporary wooden cathedral served for the next 25 years until the current structure was completed in 1965, standing as a tribute to those who rebuilt the city after the earthquake.
