- Tukituki River - Enjoy the charming vineyards along the Tukituki River cycling trail.
- Askerne Vineyards - The cellar door is open from Monday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Experience wine tasting and a picnic lunch.
- Craggy Range - A 5km detour over a hill is required. The cellar door and restaurant are open Monday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Bookings are essential, as walk-ins are not accepted.
- Te Mata Estate Winery & Vineyards - Offers a cellar door with wine tasting only. Open Monday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm (Sunday 11 am to 4 pm).
- Black Barn Vineyards - The cellar door is open Monday to Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm, offering wine tasting and platters. The restaurant is open Thursday to Sunday, 12 pm to 3 pm.

Discover the beauty of Hawke’s Bay on this picturesque 28km (17 mile) cycling adventure. The journey follows a stunning coastal bike path, where you can visit the Atea A Rangi Star Compass and observe the diverse wildlife in the estuary wetlands. The trail then meanders inland through the Tukituki River valley, offering the opportunity to explore up to four vineyards.
Indulge in local cuisine, partake in wine tasting, or simply enjoy a glass of wine before the shuttle arrives to transport you back to Napier. This is a self-guided bike tour, complete with a map detailing directions and points of interest. The route spans 28km (17 miles) and is predominantly a cycle trail.
Hospitality venues include:
- Askerne Wines: Open Monday to Sunday
- Craggy Range: Open Monday to Sunday (requires a 5km detour, booking essential)
- Te Mata Estate: Open Monday to Sunday
- Black Barn: Open Monday to Sunday
The return shuttle departs from Black Barn at 4pm. It is advisable to book wine tastings and lunch, particularly on weekends.
- At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the following information at time of booking: ship name and arrival time
- All rider heights must be advised at time of booking
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Most wineries charge a $15pp tasting fee which is refundable if you purchase wine
- Opening hours and days of the wineries do vary - please check with us at time of booking
- Minimum age is 1 year
- Not recommended for people who cannot ride bikes

Great value and routes we - Good bikes with some minor tune up needs, but a great route. We were lucky and had fantastic weather. Note that most of the wineries are closed on Mondays. We stopped at Hygge Cafe which has excellent lunch and tables inside and outside that face the sea with beautiful views.

Easy Cycling, views and wildlife aplenty. A great day out. - Excellent bikes, clear maps with a straightforward route. Amazing views and the elevated cycleways were exceptionally good. 99% is off road and easy cycling. Wineries are welcoming and make perfect stops towards the end. Thank you it was a wonderful experience.

Outstanding biking and wine tasting experience - Excellent organisation. Bikes were ready for us first thing in the morning- even individually labelled with our names. Every detail had been thought about and planned- bags for bike, bike locks given linked to our phone number, excellent detailed information.
Pickup at 1600 as planned.

A must do! - Great comfy bike and fab map to guide us to the wineries. Service was fab. We had a flat tire which was quickly rectified. Ran into a personal health issue and they quickly came the rescue in a different pick up location. Great day and amazing personal help.

Wine tasting on 2 wheels - We had an amazing day cycling out to the winerys from the shop, along the sea front and into the countryside. It was a beautiful day and the scent in the countryside was delicious as we cycled through orchards and vineyards. The bikes we great, the picnic we ordered at Askerne Winery to accompany our first wine flight of the day was fabulous as was the wine. Our pick up at 4pm was prompt and we had a lovely chat to Jan on the way home. We would definitely recommend this trip.

A nice days cycle from Napier - Included in our trip, addional cost, was a drop off down the coast to the start point, ( there is the option to cycle down), a nice coffee shop for coffee before setting out, instructions given to us by Napier Bikes were good, also included a map, there were plenty of bike signs also, going to various locations
We had booked lunch at the Black Barn at the end where the pick up was back to Napier at 4.00pm
Good e-bikes, nice scenery, good service, we will use again

Go biking while in Napier - With Some good advice of the chief we biked with a lot of pleasure around Napier, Hastings and the Bay.
The bikes were in perfect shape (so were we😀) and the weather was good too …

A must do in Napier - Excellent trip, easy to book, good communication throughout. Easy to follow instructions and map. Bikes to Black Barn, had a delicious lunch then picked up on time and returned to Napier.
