Our NAPA wine tour guide (Alberto) did a nice job. Spending the day in a van with strangers was fun due to the charming guide. Enjoyed the wineries.
We received notification that we would visit Robledo Family winery but when we got on the van we found out it had been changed to Cline Winery for the benefit of other guests that were on the tour a day before. We were a bit disappointed since we had already been to Cline.
It was a pleasant tour and the small bus was very comfortable. The driver was very personable and informative. I was disappointed that we didn't stop at the Golden Gate Bridge for pictures...I'm guessing because of heavy traffic. We seemed to run out of time and it felt hurried coming back to the city. One of the couples on the bus was extremely loud and boisterous...maybe too much wine? Overall it was a nice day...
The tour itself was wonderful as was our tour guide! My only complaint is that we got up very early to beat the traffic across the Bay Bridge so we could be picked up at a designated location in SF. However, when we left on the tour we went back across the Bay Bridge and drove right past the motel we were staying at! The option to be picked up where we stayed without having to get up at 5:30 in the morning to beat traffic would have been nice.
The wineries themselves were fantastic. All the owners/wine makers were incredibly knowledgeable however it would have been better if they told us more about the wine flavours themselves. The tour host was personable and friendly. She made sure we stopped for the photo opp and clearly knew the area/owners well if not the wine. This may well be a cultural thing however her main issues was the amount of times she mentioned a tip. I counted at least 6 occasions where it was noted and although one could well have been due this was just rude. A tip is earnt not demanded. Overall a very good experience that I would do again. I must admit the drop off was a bit cheeky - its advertised door to door however it was clearly easily for the driver to drop us off at one location. I appreciate I was only a four block walk away however this was alittle bit lazy when advertised otherwise. The vehicle was great and sociable. The wine cards themselves were a bit pointless. No one had a chance to read them. Napa itself was amazing, thank you for a great day
The bus was VERY uncomfortable. It was the small bus where you sat facing one another. I did not like the Madonna winery. The guy took forever and we were there way too long. Oxbow was OK. I had gone on Sonoma tour a couple of years ago on a regular small bus with picnic lunch included and enjoyed that a lot more.
The tour was great despite it being the hottest day of the year in Napa! Our tour guide was nice and informative. The first winery was not very interactive-the woman/owner (can't remember names now) was more just telling us about wines rather than it being an interactive or fun experience. I really enjoyed Andretti winery because the people there were fun as well as informative during the tasting. We were kind of rushed out of Andretti, and even though I would have bought wine there we weren't given the chance before we were herded back on the bus (not sure if we were behind schedule). It would have been nice to be outside in the vineyards more but due to the heat we were confined inside, couldn't be helped. Overall good experience in Napa and I would recommend the tour to a friend!
Our tour guide (Robin) was very pleasant and helpful. The transportation was on time and comfortable. Our first winery (Spellitich) was not quite what we were expecting in that it was not a vineyard, just a winery operation where they buy the grapes and make the wines. Very pleasant host who was full of the science and the knowledge. The wines were good although the portions were small. Our second winery was by far our favorite and that was the Andretti winery. This was what we were expecting. A nice, quiet beautiful vineyard that is what you would picture in Europe or something. Our host was excellent (I think his name was John). Full of energy and entertainment and the portions were plentiful!! Unfortunately, our third winery (Madonna) was very disappointing. Especially after coming from the Andretti winery. I would recommend that Green Dreams consider switching to a different winery than the Madonna one. Their vineyard is on a separate property which we did not see so all we did was walk into a room that was very noisy as it is right beside the high way. Our host was terrible, he provided a very short history of the winery and that was it. Essentially we all just sat around and he poured us 5 tasters and then he went back to his computer or his desk or whatever. No engagement, no descriptions, not information etc. The wines were ok but everything else was disappointing. Again, recommend finding somewhere different.
The website advertises included pickup at the Customer's location which is not true. We were staying at Land's End area and had to Uber to a central location in town. The wineries chosen were very nice but didn't find Andretti Winery very welcoming. A nice experience overall with a few shortfalls.
The tour is good , group size is small , the winery visit selection is interesting , The tour guide is good
Very nice tour, entertaining tour guide, nice wineries, would have liked to see me more the wine hills/the scenery of Napa.
We attended the napa valley tour on June 19th. Our lunch break was 90+ minutes long - we would have preferred a shorter lunch break and a later start. The wineries were ok but not spectacular. In our opinion: the 1st one was less than memorable, the 2nd host was not very knowledgeable, we enjoyed the 3rd winery. Chris was knowledgeable, friendly and a great tour guide! We appreciated that youre carbon neutral!
Overall the tour was great! Perhaps more time at the market would have been nice, especially since we were there during peak hours. If the pick up is going to be late, would be great to inform the guests as we waited for about an hour. More time outdoors in the vineyards would have been awesome, rather than indoors wine tasting. All in all a good tour, I will definitely recommend to my friends and family!
