While I understand that the bus used was a substitution, it was a little dingy.
Our tour guide was wonderful but I don’t think the tour was planned out with the all the breweries. Fogbelt was full so we had to sit outside in drizzly weather. I think the guides or whoever is in charge to call ahead to breweries that can accommodate. There was only 10 of us
Our tour was awesome - Ron - our tour guide - was fun and very knowledgeable giving us a lot of interesting fun local beer history and the 3 breweries were great - the highlight being Lagunitas where we had a hilarious bartender and wonderful flights of beer! The other 2 newer breweries were really good and we were thrilled to try them. The entire tour was perfect including lunch and we would highly recommend it!
We had a very good time and the guide was outstanding. The bus was big and comfortable. Would have liked a more diverse selection of beers (some of us Californians have had plenty of IPAs). The lunch was disappointing. We were told we’d eat at a brewery but we had to eat messy sandwiches out of a paper bag on the bus with no trays. My Reuben was terrible and not even a bag of chips. And the mints for dessert never got to our seats. IPA on the bus was most welcome but they advertise a selection of beers on the bus. Starting at Lagunitas worked exceptionally well - beer and performance art!
Even though I was excited to go to Barrel Brothers, I didn't like the beers we had there. I really only like IPAs and some stouts. Not sure if it's possible to accommodate people with different likes but it would be nice.
Felt safe with the bus driver and Mike was an excellent tour guide. Great, great day except for Barrel Brothers.
everything was great. My only feedback would be to have the host explain at each stop what to expect prior to each stop (tour, tasting, etc...) and also if just a tasting, then a flight list would be helpful so we can anticipate what to expect during the stop. Again... great time and well done.
We enjoyed our Public VIP Brewery Tour very much. We loved Lagunitas Brewing and found the tour quite informative. The other two breweries were good too, but mostly just for drinking beer rather than learning about the process to brew it. Our tour guide and bus driver were cheerful and friendly and very knowledgable about beer and the area in general. The only reason that I didn't give the tour 5 stars was because the lunch wasn't pleasant. Sandwiches were kind of soggy and not much fun to eat quickly on the bus. All in all, it was a good day and I'd recommend the experience to friends.
WE had such a fantastic time. Matt & Rob made it even better. We highly recommend
We loved out tour guide Katie and driver Rob! She was very knowledgeable about beer and the breweries we visited. Our tour and tasting at Lagunitas was exceptional. Five stars for guide Taylor and all of the staff there that we interacted with! Cooperative had a great vibe and although they were very busy, staff was friendly and welcoming. My only disappointment was the staff at Barrel Brothers. The staff paid more attention to the customers at the bar than to our group so we had to work a little for their attention. Didn't feel very VIP there and didn't make me feel like I wanted to return. All in all, a fun day trying some beers I might not have otherwise tried.
Great job James!!!!! We appreciated your knowledge about our local breweries! Jeanny was an excellent bus driver!!!!
Great time , even educational about brew history with some fun people
Very relaxed and informative at the same time.
Although the tour was a good one, it would have been nice to stop the bus to eat lunch. We ate our sandwiches while driving to the next stop. It was a little messy. Also, we ran into traffic because Santa Rosa was hosting a triathlon and we ran into the bikers.
The tours and tasking were great. Lunch was good but would be better if we could eat the sandwiches at a picnic beer spot, but I get time is an issue. Need a better sound system in the van and play better music to keep the fun going.
Tim and Joe were great! We had a blast.
I enjoyed the Lagunitas experience and the beer was great all around. I would have liked to choose my own beer tasting at each establishment (or at least had options) as opposed to a set tasting picked in advance. My sandwich was great, but I saved half and when I returned to the bus it was gone (I guess it was ravished by ants?). Lastly, the guides were great but it would have been fun if there was maybe music playing on the bus... We did appreciate the drop off in Santa Rosa as an added bonus!
My Husband and I had an amazing time! Very fun, laid back, knowledgeable, and something we will tell our family and friends about!
It happened to be that my girlfriend and I were the only two people signed up for the tour and surprisingly, the tour was not canceled. Thinking we were the only 2 on the tour was a bit strange at first, but very quickly the tour guide made us very comfortable and sure knew what she was talking about. It made for a fantastic Sunday in the North Bay!
We had a great time with a great group of people. We definitely want to go again!
Had a great time! The North bay staff was knowledgeable and great to be around. I really enjoyed Lagunitas, but the entire tour was a great experience. The sandwich was the bomb. Definitely will be returning.
We loved Lagunitas but Barrel Brothers and Cooperidge we’re not as good in terms of beer. We LOVED the sandwich choices and thought James was an awesome driver!
this was fun and we are definitely glad we did it. there is room for improvement though. the shuttle is a piece of junk, which is ok, but the air conditioner was not effective after 2pm. if you are going to visit the smaller breweries, it seems they should be requested to have a little lecture prepared. I don't know how our tour benefits them, but we expect a more informative visit from the brewery. Otherwise, we could just take uber and get the same experience.
