Nanyuki - The journey starts with a pickup from the hotel, followed by a transfer to Wilson Airport for a 45-minute flight to Nanyuki, a charming town nestled in the picturesque foothills of Mount Kenya. From there, a scenic drive takes you to the camp in eastern Laikipia, approximately two hours north of Nanyuki. This camp will be your residence for the next four nights. Laikipia, located northeast of the Great Rift Valley, is a vast plateau where landowners and conservationists have created a unique environment for communities and wildlife to thrive together.
The camp offers a stunning view of granite kopjes (rock outcrops) to the west, and you might spot zebras, giraffes, and antelopes grazing on the open grasslands. The camp features six spacious walk-in traditional safari tents adorned with vibrant African furnishings and fabrics, and the home-cooked meals are always diverse, fresh, and delicious. Evenings are spent enjoying drinks, or sundowners, overlooking the bush or by the fire, followed by three-course dinners under the stars.

Departure from the Camp, Flight Back to Nairobi for the Cultural Tour
Nairobi - After breakfast and a warm farewell from the camp team, enjoy a final drive through Laikipia back to Nanyuki Airport. Upon arrival at Wilson Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. This hotel will serve as your base for the next three nights as you embark on three inspiring day trips to engage with remarkable communities in and around Nairobi.
For this evening and the following two nights, dinner will be at popular local restaurants in Nairobi. The dining venues are carefully selected for their excellent cuisine and service, taking into account the group’s preferences and the presence of children. The ambiance of the restaurants is always a key consideration.
Dining out is a wonderful way to unwind, discuss, and inquire about the various communities and projects visited, as well as reflect on the experiences of the past few days.
Meeting an Inspiring Group of Women Today
Ngong Hills - Today’s visit is to a Women’s Empowerment Centre in a developing area west of Nairobi, one of the projects supported. The center was founded by Mary, a Kenyan social worker, who developed a program to assist struggling mothers by teaching them lifestyle, trade, and entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to establish their own businesses. The results have been remarkable, with mothers transforming into independent business owners and community leaders, while crucially supporting and keeping their families together. This cultural tour is truly unique.
Spend time with Mary to learn about her vision and meet some of the proud and resourceful women. This experience will demonstrate how empowerment and skill-building can lift people out of poverty. The day promises to be one of the most emotional and inspiring experiences, with opportunities to join in the singing and dancing that often accompany such visits.

This intriguing 8-day journey of culture and wildlife will enchant those who desire to interact with and assist Kenyan natives in small-scale social ventures, as well as participate in an eco-friendly safari in a conservancy where wildlife bloom and communities flourish.
The initial half of this trip transports you to the Laikipia Plateau near Mount Kenya, a region committed to preserving wildlife while collaborating with the indigenous Samburu and Maasai populations. It provides an authentic safari encounter for all visitors, and activities can be as relaxed or dynamic as you prefer. You have the option of a casual safari stroll, a camel ride, or hopping in a 4x4 for viewing game.
Once you return to Nairobi, you will have the honor of acquainting with three communities and observe how Kenyans are surmounting poverty. We guide you to a community of grandmothers initiating small enterprises, a women’s vocational training facility for young mothers, and a Maasai village to experience conventional lifestyles. Three awe-inspiring days.
