This captivating wine tour offers a glimpse into the vibrant traditions of Georgian winemaking at the Nikoladze Family Winery, where natural wine is produced in qvevri using time-honored techniques handed down through the ages.
The journey starts with a leisurely stroll around the family estate, enveloped by vineyards and fruit trees. Then, explore the winery and the traditional qvevri cellar, where clay vessels buried underground subtly influence the wines’ character.
During the tasting session, participants will enjoy sampling 5 distinct natural wines crafted in qvevri, along with 2 varieties of local homemade vodka (chacha). Each tasting is enriched with fascinating stories and legends about Georgian wine culture, the principles of natural winemaking, and Georgia’s 8,000-year-old wine heritage.
Additionally, guests will discover the traditions of Georgian toasting, the role of the tamada (toastmaster), and the diverse winemaking styles found across different regions of Georgia.
