Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

Hell’s Gate National Park - Following breakfast, the journey begins from the Nairobi hotel, embarking on a picturesque drive along the Great North Road to Hell’s Gate National Park. The park is reached after an hour’s drive. Upon arrival, there is a choice between a game drive in a Safari vehicle or cycling through the park. Cycling offers an exciting adventure, covering 7 kilometers before pausing at a ranger’s post. After a short break, the bikes are left behind to start a walking safari, taking in the breathtaking views of the gorge. Accommodation is provided in a budget lodge with full board.

Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru National Park - This morning, the journey continues from Naivasha to Lake Nakuru Park, celebrated by bird enthusiasts as the world’s greatest ornithological spectacle. The park is renowned for its millions of pink flamingos along the lake shore. Arrival at Lake Nakuru is by mid-morning for a game drive en route, followed by check-in at Lake Nakuru Lodge for lunch. An afternoon game drive is followed by a walk along the shores, offering views of the park’s diverse wildlife, including the Black Rhino, White Rhino, and Rothschild Giraffe. Accommodation is in a budget hotel with full board.

Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara

Maasai Mara National Reserve - After breakfast, the drive crosses the Great Rift Valley floor, the Earth’s longest rift, to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, an unspoiled savannah. The Masai Mara is the northern extension of the Great Plains ecosystem, which continues into Tanzania as the Serengeti. It is home to the “big five”—lion, buffalo, rhino, leopard, and elephant—as well as cheetah, zebra, giraffe, and numerous other wildlife. Accommodation is at a quality lodge. After lunch and some relaxation, possibly including a swim, an afternoon game drive with a driver guide is planned to seek out the big five. As the sun begins to set, it is an ideal time to capture photographs of the stunning Mara plains. Accommodation is in a budget tented camp.

Masai Mara Full Day

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Spend a full day in the Mara, where the vast grasslands are a refuge for the threatened, migratory Corncrake and the near-threatened Jackson’s widowbird. The surrounding bush and woodlands are home to unique bird species, with over 450 bird species recorded in the Mara, including 12 species of cisticola and various birds of prey. Accommodation is in a budget tented camp.

Masai Mara to Nairobi

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport - After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara for Nairobi, with a stop for panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley along the way. Arrival in Nairobi is in the afternoon, with drop-off at the Nairobi hotel or transfer to the airport in time for the flight home.
