Relaxing boat trip and close-up animal encounters - We had a great time on this day trip to Crescent Island. Mwose was our tour guide and he and our driver were right on time picking our group of 4 up from our hotel. Mwose told us about Nairobi and taught us some Swahili on the drive out to the lake. He did a great job showing us around the island and talking about the animals with us. We got very close to some giraffes, zebra, and right next to an ostrich! Also saw a lot of hippos from a safe distance, fishing eagles grabbing fish, herons, and pelicans. It was a lovely day out, very relaxing with the boat ride and walking tour of the island. We would highly recommend! Got back to our hotel around 4:30, left about 7:30am. Remember to bring cash for entrance fee to Crescent Island.

Great daytrip from Nairobi - This was a great daytrip from Nairobi. Obed is a fantastic guide - the communication ahead of the tour was easy, the pickup and drive was smooth with comfortable conversation, and even when we ran into a problem with reaching the island by boat due to the hiacynth overflow on the lake, Obed tried his best to find an alternative route, enabling us to get to the island and enjoy the incredible experience of walking among wildlife. Obed is also very knowledgable about the birds, flora and fauna of Kenya, it was great to learn from him. I recommend that travelers bring sunscreen, some sunglasses and waterproof shoes, they came in very useful.

Lovely day to Crescent Island Nature Reserve - This was so beautiful - going across the lake to Cresent Island , before our Trek in Nairobi. An abundance of Wildlife and birds - Fish Eagles and Pelicans. The animals are very protected on the Island and also mostly friendly. We could get near to the giraffes and Zebras. The animals are well cared for by the staff on the island. There is a nice cafe/ bar for a Tuska Beer!!

A magical day on Crescent Island! - I spent a wonderful day on Crescent Island with Obed as my guide. He really knows the animals and took his time to explain everything, never rushing me and always letting me take all the photos and videos I wanted. At one point, he chose a quiet path where it felt like it was just the two of us and the wildlife — such a peaceful, almost unreal feeling. The island itself is stunning, like being out of time and away from the world. Being able to walk among giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, pelicans, ostriches, gazelles, and so many other animals was truly incredible. After the walk, we took our time enjoying a nice lunch at the restaurant I chose — everything was relaxed and easygoing, just perfect. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. I can truly recommend it 100%!

A must do whilst in Nairobi! - What an amazing day!!! Our guide Obed was magnificent! He made the day run so smoothly and was very knowledgeable. Walking around the island we saw so many animals up close including hippos, zebras, giraffes and ostriches. This is a must do tour whilst in Nairobi. We did the giraffe centre yesterday and this was 10 times better. The only thing I would recommend is request a different lunch spot, not the buffet. Perhaps a picnic on the island.

Once in a lifetime - This was the most incredible experience. Tim the guide was wonderful. He explained a lot about life in Kenya as we drove and the visit to the island was one of those one in a lifetime pinch me moments. Tim was also kind enough to stop at a supermarket so I could buy a phone charger as mine had stopped working. Today was a dream come true and a must for any visitors to the area!

Why You Should Ask for Mwose at SafariPort.com - My friend and I took a day trip to Lake Naivasha with our tour guide, Mwose, and it was an unforgettable experience. On the way to the lake, he made several stops, giving my friend and me the opportunity to see locally made items while providing the history and significance of different areas we passed by along the way. We saw lush greenery. Mwose also arranged lunch and provided us with great meal options, including asking us what our palate felt like on that day. When we arrived at the area where we got on the canoe-style boat, the trip truly came to life. We saw a wide variety of bird species and even hippos in the lake a bit scary however, our tour guide and the captain made us feel at ease. Arriving on the island felt like stepping into paradise: giraffes grazing freely, along with monkeys, ostriches, zebras, and many other animals. What stood out most was Mwose himself. He has a calm and respectful demeanor, with an incredible level of self-awareness. He also had a highten level of integrity he didn't overcharge us. His professionalism and passion made the trip even more memorable. I highly recommend asking for Mwose by nameyou’ll be glad you did!
