Hell’s Gate National Park - 7am - Depart from Nairobi and begin the drive to Naivasha, with a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint.
Arrive at Hell’s Gate entrance around 9:30am. Begin the biking tour at Hell’s Gate, covering 8 kilometers to the gorge, with wildlife along the route.
11am - Explore the gorges within the park. These are…

Arrive at Hell’s Gate entrance around 9:30am. Begin the biking tour at Hell’s Gate, covering 8 kilometers to the gorge, with wildlife along the route.
11am - Explore the gorges within the park. These are narrow land depressions where you can walk along the sides. This will take approximately 1 hour.
1pm - Conclude the tours and return the bikes, cycling 8 kilometers back to the gate.
Notes: 1. If you feel tired or prefer not to bike, you can tour the park by vehicle, and the driver will gladly stop for scenic views and photo opportunities.
- If you are too tired to bike back from the gorge, we are pleased to offer a complimentary ride back to the gate upon request.
- Lake Naivasha - Enjoy an optional 1-hour boat ride on the lake for bird watching and hippo viewing.
There is also a restaurant by the lake where you can have lunch.
Conclude activities around 4 pm and drive back to Nairobi.

Beautiful nature and knowledgeable guides - We had a wonderful time with Joash and Laky. They were very knowledgeable and flexible with the planning to accomodate our schedules. It was very easy to coordinate and we saw a lot of nature and animals!! Biking is a great way to see Hells Gate - I'd highly recommend.

Great day spent - Great way to start our trip. Joash was prompt, professional and friendly. Clean car. He talked about the different areas we drive through. Good at stopping for photos. Lunch was very good and was budget friendly.
The boat trip gave us the opportunity to see birds and animals.
The time spent in Hells Gate was fun. We enjoyed hiking and seeing what was there. Our Masi guide provided stories along the way.
Joash made our first day in Nairobi fun. Would definitely recommend.

Great time - Our driver Patrick was excellent and the experience wonderful, we had a great guide in Hell’s gate and we participated in rock climbing as well as hiking in the gorge.

The real zebra crossing! - You will have an amazing time! We saw zebras, giraffes, impala, buffalo, and MANY more animals up close. The views are breathtaking. The landscape is incredible. Our guide and driver was Patrick. He has great personality and wonderful sense of humor. Inside Hell's Gate, Reagan was our guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer every question we had. Book the tour with the entry fee included since it the actual posted fee to enter the park. Do the boat ride as well because it gives you another view of Kenya's beauty. Oh, and you'll want to see the hippos!

An extraordinary experience - It was a wonderful experience — we carry it in our hearts. Pure nature. The bicycle safari was absolutely next level — an incredible way to experience nature, the animals, and the landscape.
I have to highlight that our driver, Joash, provided impeccable service — 💯 recommended! Responsible behind the wheel, kind, careful, respectful, and very well prepared.
Also, the Spanish-speaking guide at Hell’s Gate, Gadaffi, was excellent! I highly recommend the experience and the way it’s organized.
We finished at Lake Naivasha to observe hippos — wow 🤩

Memorable adventure at Hell’s Gate - Great biking adventure through Hell’s Gate and Great Rift Valley. Jane was an accommodating and friendly guide. Be sure to bring plenty of snacks and water because there is no dedicated stop for lunch.

Good variety, so much beauty - Loved the bike, the hike and the boat tour. All the tour guides were excellent. We unfortunately hit some terrible traffic on the way out of Nairobi which delayed us more than an hour, but we managed to get in most of the day's events. We did have to forgo riding back from the canyon, which was disappointing to some in our group, but that bike ride would have been much more challenging than the bike out re being uphill.
I guess the one negative was the poor quality of the bikes, but that's generally to be expected for rentals.

Okay for a day trip - This was pretty fun. It was nice to get out of the car and ride a bike. The gorge itself was not impressive. The bike guide was pretty knowledgeable. It's definitely not on anyone's "must do" list, but if you need something to fill a good portion of the day as a day-trip out of Nairobi, then it's fine.
Same with Naivasha, although this was the better part of the trip. After my first Safari guide, I quickly learned that not everyone would measure up. The boat driver was fine, but had that underlying feeling that he's more interested in getting back to the docks than in you really enjoying the experience, getting pictures, etc.

Dissapointing experience -

We booked the Small Group Budget Tour to Hell’s Gate National Park and Lake Naivasha because we were excited to experience the park by bike, as described in the tour details. We were a group of five, and while two of us wanted to cycle as planned, the other three preferred to do the bike portion from the car.
The first part of the trip was wonderful — cycling through the park surrounded by zebras and giraffes, and walking through the beautiful gorge.
However, when it was time to cycle back, our guide encouraged us to get into the car “because it might rain” and that we needed to go to the boat. The sky was completely clear, and it wasn’t clear why there was such a rush to reach the next activity, especially since the boat ride was optional and not the main focus of the tour.
Later, during lunch, the driver mentioned that he had advised us not to cycle back because of the other three members of the group who didn’t want to ride. This was very disappointing, as it meant our experience was shortened to accommodate others rather than following the advertised itinerary.
To make matters worse, when we arrived at the lake, there was so much vegetation that we couldn’t even start the boat ride there — we had to drive to another location instead. This made the earlier decision to end the cycling portion even more unnecessary.
In the end, we spent half of the tour sitting in the back of a car with dark windows, unable to take photos or enjoy the scenery. Considering that we paid £185 for this experience, it didn’t feel fair or representative of what was advertised. We would appreciate if the company could review this situation, as the tour did not deliver the full cycling experience we were promised.
