• Hell’s Gate National Park - Start your day with a 7am pickup in Nairobi, then journey to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate National Park, pausing to take in the views of the Great Rift Valley from a scenic overlook along the way.
  Upon arriving at the park around 9am, embark on a 2-hour guided bike/walking tour: look out for stunning rock formations and herds of Thompson’s gazelle, eland, zebra, giraffes, warthogs, and hartebeest as you ride. Keep an eye on the sky throughout the tour, as Hell’s Gate National Park is home to over 100 species of birds, including Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards, vultures, and swifts.

Continue on foot into the park’s unique gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are carved into sedimentary rock. After a 1-hour walk, head to Lake Naivasha, then proceed to Naivasha Marina camp for lunch (own expense).

Note: If biking is not an option, you can tour the park by vehicle. The driver/guide will gladly stop for photos of wildlife and scenery at no extra cost.

• Lake Naivasha - For an additional fee of $25 per person, you can explore Lake Naivasha’s wildlife on a 1-hour boat tour. Spot hippos lingering just below the water’s surface and observe some of the diverse birdlife; African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbills, and little grebes are all commonly seen here. At 4pm, begin the return trip to Nairobi, concluding the day with a drop-off in Nairobi at approximately 6pm.
