Mud, Magic & the Mara: Worth Every Rainy Drop - Don’t let anyone talk you out of the Mara in the rainy season. We went with Savanna Sojourns for three days and it was absolutely phenomenal — leopards, lion prides, elephant families, zebras everywhere. The green season is something else entirely. The highlight? Getting the jeep stuck in thick red mud. Our son jumped out, boots deep in the muck, helping push the vehicle free. He’s still talking about it weeks later. What set Savanna Sojourns apart was how completely they customised everything around our family’s needs. Nothing felt generic. Their team, especially our guide, was outstanding from start to finish. Unforgettable trip. Highest possible recommendation.

Maria you are a Great safari Planner - We just finished an incredible 3-day safari with a group of friends, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! We actually booked the trip back in December last year, and Maria organized everything so seamlessly from start to finish. A special thank you to Maria for being so responsive and helpful. Our flight ended up being changed last minute, but we were able to communicate with her easily and she quickly sorted everything out without any stress on our side. That level of support made a huge difference. Our stay at Mara Ntulele was fantastic. The accommodation was comfortable, beautiful, and perfectly located for the safari experience. The staff and support team were also amazing—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Overall, it was a wonderful trip filled with great memories with friends. Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a smooth and enjoyable adventure!

Adventures in the Mara - George and team were terrific to work with. The highly rated reviews were completely accurate as I reached out to them about a custom tour for my wife and I in the Mara and Lake Nakuru. George was in constant communication with me and was always there to answer questions and made sure to build the right itinerary for us. Our guide Ronnie was great as well. He let us dictate our tour and made sure we targeted seeing what were considered highlights. Unfortunately we missed the Great Migration but that was just due to timing elements. Otherwise, we’ll definitely look to book with George and team in the future. Highly recommend for your private tour experience.

Huge Thanks to Savanna Sojourns and Our Guide George - We had an amazing three days thanks to Savanna Sojourns and our guide George! Even though we kept changing our plans on the third day and probably made things a bit tricky, the staff handled everything with such patience and kindness. George was the perfect guide — he gave us all the info we needed about the animals, but never talked too much or interrupted our own conversations. He kept just the right balance, which made the trip super comfortable. And of course, when it came to the animals, George really delivered! Using both his own instincts and tips from fellow guides, he made sure we saw everything we were hoping for. We got to spot all the animals on our list, and he answered every question we had. Honestly, it couldn’t have been a better three days. If you’re on the fence, I can’t recommend Savanna Sojourns and George enough!

Bring tips at masai - Here’s a refined and well-structured version of your review: --- Our Trip to the Mara – A One-Time, Worthwhile Experience The trip overall was great, although the journey from Nairobi to the Mara was quite bumpy—definitely not ideal for those with sensitive stomachs! That said, once we arrived, our guide Randy made a real effort to help us spot wildlife. Thanks to him, we managed to see a rare leopard and several lions, which was a major highlight. The visit to the local Maasai village was interesting. The traditional dances can be a bit surprising at first, but the people are friendly and welcoming. It was fascinating to learn how central cows are to their lifestyle—even their houses are made using cow dung. A few practical tips for future visitors: Once you're in the Mara, there isn't much to do outside the game drives. Some villas don’t have Wi-Fi in the rooms, and power outages can happen frequently. Bring Kenyan shillings in small denominations—tipping is expected often, and it’s best to be prepared. We stayed for three days, but honestly, one full day might be enough for the game drives. Seeing all of the Big Five is not guaranteed—despite our guide’s best efforts, we didn’t manage to spot a rhino. Randy, our guide, was nice. He was knowledgeable, professional, and respectful of our personal space—giving us privacy during meals and activities. Some travelers might prefer more interaction, but we appreciated the balance he maintained. There was a minor issue at Jambo Mara regarding the exchange rate—they initially tried to charge us at a higher rate. Thankfully, Randy helped us sort it out by assisting with a money transfer, which resolved the situation. Just be aware that tipping is often expected for various services. In summary, it was a good experience and definitely worth doing once—but we’re not sure we’d go through the logistical hassle again just to see the animals. Still, we’re glad we did it

Africa is the best! - We spent three incredible days in the Masai Mara Reserve. One of the most memorable moments was the visit to the Maasai village it was a truly unique cultural immersion. We talked to the locals and saw them living, dancing and building their traditional houses. Of course, the safari was amazing! We saw thousands of them, so many of them, that the whole savannah seemed to come alive. Unfortunately, they never dared to cross the river, but it was still a spectacular sight. A walk along the Mara River left an indelible impression. The scenery was breathtaking wildlife, birdsong, the noise of the water... although my son was a little scared the river is respectable. This trip has given us incredible emotions and I would love to come back here again!

A magical experience — already dreaming of going back! - 3-Day Maasai Mara Safari Review Our 3-day adventure at the Maasai Mara was unforgettable! The highlight was definitely the Mara River, where we watched hippos and crocodiles lounging as wildebeests cautiously gathered at the banks. Nature at its rawest! The lions were absolutely majestic — we saw a pride lazing under the acacia trees and even witnessed a thrilling (and heart-pounding) hunt at dusk. A huge shoutout to the Jambo Mara staff, who welcomed us with warm smiles and impeccable hospitality. The food, service, and comfort were beyond expectations. Our guide was always punctual, incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about the wildlife. That said, those early morning game drives? Brutal to wake up for — but totally worth it once we were out in the wild.
