Awesome - Amazing experience, park packed with animals. Willy our guide was so helpful and you could stand up in the vehicle to get a great view. He said we were very lucky to see almost everything in our wish list - rhinos, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, cheetahs, lions, buffalo and even a fleeting view of a leopard as we were leaving. Incredible bird life too - I would have liked to learn more about them as well.
The team were very friendly and proactive with their communication and worked around a delayed taxi from the airport to make it work.
Bring your own water and if you want to spend a long time looking at each point consider booking a private tour as this moves quite quickly (which suited me perfectly).

Exceptional guide - Linus was an exceptional guide, engaging, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we were able to see the lions. He was very thoughtful throughout the game drive, consistently checking in to make sure we were happy with the experience. At the end of the drive, he was especially considerate and ensured I was dropped off first so I could attend my meeting on time.

The tour company messaged... - The tour company messaged me via WhatsApp the night before and let me know all the logistics for the tour such as how to get our park entry tickets and what time to be ready. The pick up time was 20 minutes before six with six being in the advertised time on the tour page, so that may end up varying slightly, depending on how many people they have to pick up from various places.
Our tour guide, Daniel, was very friendly and knowledgable and offered us lots of interesting facts as we drove around the park and saw different animals. We saw three of the big five which is great because they don’t have elephants and leopards are very elusive :) along with that we saw many other animals, including warthogs, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, and many more. I think for every animal there was at least one occasion when we were able to see them quite close up as well, which is very nice.

Superb Game Drive - This was an outstanding game drive tour. Our wonderful guide Willy took us to observe many animals up close in the wild. We saw Guinea, Impalas, Fox, Antelopes, Lions, Giraffe, Zebras, Ostriches, Rhinos, Warthogs, Elands, Hippos, Vultures, Water Buffalos, Crocodiles, Blue Herons, and many other birds. We also saw a baby Rhino and her very protective mommy. We watched two lion cubs playing while their mommy was trying to nap.

Fantastic short safari - Great 5-hour visit to Nairobi National Park where we saw three of the Big Five—Buffalo, Rhino, and Lion. Linus was a knowledgeable and friendly guide who made the trip fun for all.

Amazing - I had a really nice experience! Our guide, Daniel, was really helpful.
The one thing that was less was that pickup transfer was included but when i booked it, they told me it was to far so I needed to pay for pickup or arrange it by myself. But they were really helpful and we saw a lot of animals! I really enjoyed it! 🤩

Wouldn’t recommend. Pros & cons! - Overall a half decent experience for the price but wouldn’t recommend to a friend. Was told the night before - not even 12 hours notice, that our hotel was outside their usual radius (despite them knowing the location since booking 3 months ago) so demanded an extra $20. I had no choice to pay this and it felt like a last minute scam for extra cash. We were then given the pleasure of this pick up in a battered old car with dents and scratches all over and unfriendly driver, whom of which I was told would arrive for 5:50am but arrived at 6:10am. We then got to the gate to meet the safari driver who didn’t turn up for another 20 mins.
He did give us an enjoyable safari in terms of finding animals. He didn’t however talk through the drive as much as I’ve had in the past. He also got the truck stuck in mud which was coming in through the windows and the truck was then faulty and making unsafe sounds for the drive back - luckily we found this part relatively funny.
We weren’t offered any blankets or bottle of water throughout the drive which has been standard on others we’ve experienced. We luckily took our own blanket thankfully! We did go without a drink for 8 hours in this case though which was uncomfortable.
Overall, it could be far better and they have the facilities to give a 5 star experience if they gave it more thought and organisation to improve customer experience.

Very average experience and disappointing service. - The park itself is beautiful, but the company really let things down.
When I first confirmed, I was told pickup would be at 6:30 am (confirmed via phone with Wellington Ecotours). The night before, the time suddenly changed to 5:40 am, with a very firm message stressing that we must not be late because we needed to be inside the park by 6:30. When I questioned the change, I was told the timing was critical.
Despite all of that, the driver did not show up until shortly after 6:00 am. I was left waiting after being repeatedly told how important it was to be on time, which was frustrating and unnecessary.
Once in the park, the guide was fine but nothing special. What really bothered me was that we passed a large group of zebras early on. I was excited to stop and take photos and asked if we could pause. The guide said no and told me we would see plenty more later. I asked again, but he insisted we would find them elsewhere. In the end, we never did. I understand animals move, and nothing is guaranteed, but it made no sense to stop when we clearly had a great sighting right in front of us.
In short, I absolutely recommend visiting the park, but I would not recommend Wellington Ecotours and Safaris. Poor communication, a late pickup, and an unresponsive guide made the overall experience disappointing.

WE WERE CHEATED AND TREATED UNFAIRLY - WE HAVE BEEN CHEATED BY WELLINGTON SAFARIS FOR $180.
My wife, my kids, my mother in-law, brother and myself came to Kenya strictly for the safari to celebrate our 5th year anniversary we were really looking forward to it so We made a reservation on GETYOURGUIDE.COM for a safari by 1:30pm for the “Nairobi National Park 5-hour Guided Game Drive Free Pick up”
We weren’t told about the park fees anywhere in the booking because it was our first time we had no idea so naturally we were confused. We went back and forth regarding that because we didn’t see anywhere to pay for it at all so we contested it. We asked for a refund on the grounds that we were not duly informed and they said it was already BOOKED AND RESERVED and there was nothing they could do but it was clearly written on GETYOURGUIDE.COM that cancellation was free (picture attached).
Regardless We quietly resigned ourselves to paying for it because we were told that when the guide comes he would put us through the payment process ( picture attached) so we accepted and waited for them to come pick us up at the time given, only for them to tell us that they had marked us as a No Show without prior knowledge or further confirmation if we would be making the trip or the contrary. They just marked it as a No show and blocked us from further contact.
How can anyone say it was a NO SHOW when they were the ones picking us up and they were the ones that said the guide would put us through the payment process when he gets here. They said we called them liars when we clearly said there was nowhere it was written that we had to pay extra fees. The least a reputable company would have done was send us a message to confirm if we are still going ahead or not.
The last and most important thing is the time given was for 1:30pm and the pick up time was 1:10 we reached out by 1:11 and they said they were already at the park and they left us behind. No explanation, No way around it, Nothing. They then blocked us from further contact. They gave us to no right for a resolution. We were cheated and there was nothing we could do about it. The least they could have done was change the date so that no one feels cheated but all we get is lost money and no contact whatsoever. We want our refund back because this was supposed to be the highlight of our stay in Kenya which was our first time here only for us to be treated in such an unfair manner.
