A wonderful experience - Kevin took us on an amazing tour of Kibela with his brother Ismael. What a fantastic opportunity to see how people live in such challenging conditions and feel the spirit of those living there. The fact that Keven picked us up and dropped us at our hotel was a huge benefit as it is not easy to move around the city. I highly recommend this tour.

Beyond Safari: A Life-Changing Visit to Kibera with Kevin & Ismael - Our visit to Kibera was one of the most powerful and eye-opening experiences my wife and I have ever had.
Unlike the safari tours that focus on Kenya’s breathtaking wildlife and landscapes, this tour focused on something even more important — the people.
Kibera is considered the largest informal settlement in Africa, with nearly 800,000 people living there. Before the tour even began, our amazing guide Kevin picked us up from our hotel in Nairobi. During the drive, he gave us a detailed and honest introduction to Kibera’s history, its current situation, and the many initiatives being taken to uplift the community — including projects he and his brother Ismael personally lead to support local families.
From the very beginning, we felt this would be a meaningful experience. As we walked through different areas of Kibera, we witnessed the harsh reality of how people live there. The conditions are undeniably difficult. However, what touched us most was something deeper: the incredible sense of community.
Despite the challenges, the bonds between people seemed stronger than ever. Everyone was kind, supportive, and respectful toward one another. There was dignity, warmth, and humanity everywhere we looked.
Kevin guided us thoughtfully and respectfully, explaining daily life while ensuring we felt comfortable at all times.
One of the most special moments of the tour was visiting Ismael’s home. Meeting his family was a privilege. They welcomed us with such warmth and kindness — we immediately felt like friends, not visitors.
Sitting together, sharing conversations, and experiencing life inside a home in Kibera is something that truly raises awareness and shifts perspectives. It reminds you that behind statistics and headlines, there are families, dreams, and love. The most emotional and uplifting part of the tour was visiting the local orphanage and school that supports more than 250 children.
We met several classes, their teachers, and the principal and founder of the school. The dedication of everyone involved is extraordinary.
But the real highlight? The children.
Their smiles, their hugs, their discipline, their respect — they genuinely change you. These are incredibly well-educated and well-mannered kids who radiate hope and potential. It was inspiring to see the excellent work being done by those supporting their education and upbringing.
This part of the tour will stay in our hearts forever.
We were also impressed by how discreet and respectful the local residents were. Not a single person approached us to sell something or ask for money. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming.
Most importantly, not even for a single moment did we feel unsafe. We ended the experience with a stop at a bone handicraft shop — a wonderful final touch that supports local artisans and allows visitors to contribute directly to the community.
This tour is not just a visit. It is an experience that changes the way you see the world. It reminds you of what really matters — community, resilience, dignity, and hope.
Kevin and Ismael, who were born and raised in Kibera, are doing incredible work alongside many others to uplift their community. By joining this tour, you not only learn — you also contribute in a small but meaningful way to their efforts.
We strongly encourage everyone visiting Nairobi to take this tour. It will move you, inspire you, and stay with you forever.
We truly loved the local community.

Eye opening. - This tour is a must for every visitor to Nairobi. It creates perspective, gratitude, anger, disappointment and a massive load of joy. The school visit is a must! Brothers Kevin and Ishmal are smart, honest and determined to improve the lives of those that live in Kibera. But they need help. Joining the tour is a big part of that. I really recommend all people take a visit.

Highly recommended! - Our family of four including 2 children aged 14 and 10 years visited Kibera with Kevin and his brother on a half day tour in December. It was such a great experience and one of the highlights of our trip. Kevin was very informative and our daughters really enjoyed meeting and chatting with the kids from the local school/orphanage. I can highly recommend Kevin's tour of Kibera. Take some Ksh or US$ if you would like to make a donation to the school.

An amazing and unique experience with an awesome guide - I can't recommend this tour enough! Kevin was an awesome guy that made me feel very at ease and informed about Kibera, as he was ready to answer all my questions. I really felt like it was a natural, not artificial, easy way to get to know the slums and it's people, who are very welcoming, I never felt unsafe. Across our stops at his sister's place, the school/orphanage, and the bones workshop, I felt like I was privileged to access a bit of Kibera culture, and you will be too! I recommend Kevin and his tour to all who visit Nairobi as you will be contributing to the community, and after the tour I got to understand how, which makes the impact I can have on the community very tangible. All in all, it was a unique opportunity to learn and reflect that you should not miss!

Life changing experience. Thank you, Kevin. - My wife and I toured with Kevin on our first day of our Kenya 2 week trip. The experienced changed our lives. Meeting Kevin and his brother as our hosts for the day was warm, friendly, very welcoming. Then the children both in the orphanage and throughout touched our hearts.
Everyone smiling in delight to see us as we exchanged our loving smiles, and high fives.
I know everyone will that meets this community with Kevin will truly feel God's love as we did and seek to support as we continue to do.

Insightful, respectful tour of Kibera - I went on a private guided tour of Kibera with Kevin to see a different side of Nairobi beyond the usual sights. Kibera is in the southwest of Nairobi and easy to reach from central areas.
Kevin is from Kibera and clearly knew the community well, approaching the tour with respect and insight. It was a meaningful opportunity to meet people and learn about daily life firsthand. A highlight was visiting a school that supports particularly disadvantaged children. Later, we came across a group of local dancers who gave an impromptu performance.
Views on visiting such settlements vary, but led by a community member and approached thoughtfully, I found this tour to be respectful, informative, and focused on understanding rather than spectacle.
