Nairobi – Aberdare or Mt. Kenya National Park
Aberdare National Park - Today’s journey takes us to either Aberdare National Park or Mt. Kenya National Park. We travel north from Nairobi to The Aberdare Country Club, situated on the slopes of Mweiga Hill. After enjoying lunch and high tea, we proceed to the Ark tree lodge, nestled in the forest on the mountain slopes of the Aberdare Mountains at an elevation of 7,000 feet. This remarkable lodge offers high-altitude wildlife viewing, featuring animals rarely seen elsewhere: giant forest hog, bush pig, tree hyrax, large spotted genet, and the elusive bongo. Wildlife can be observed from various levels, both outside where you can fully experience the environment, and inside where you can relax with a cup of tea in comfort. Guests can request to be awakened at night if their favorite animals appear. A herd of elephants might be just a few feet away, and with luck, a leopard or a large male lion might make an appearance.

The day is spent alternating between exploring the bush and relaxing in our cozy camp.

This afternoon’s game drive takes us to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a delightful haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhinos with its impressive forty specimens! Sweetwaters boasts excellent game viewing with the highest game-to-area ratio of any park or reserve in Kenya. Overnight Accommodation: Maiyain Lodge {Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner}
