Samburu National Reserve - Embark on a journey to Samburu National Park. Its secluded location makes Samburu a favored destination for tourists seeking a tranquil safari experience with fewer game vehicles. Despite its remote nature, it is the second most visited reserve after the Masai Mara. The Samburu people reside on the outskirts in rural villages, living primarily off the land. These villages offer rich cultural experiences, and visitors have the chance to explore them as part of day-trip activities.
This is one of the two reserves where researchers and conservationists, Joy and George Adamson, gained fame for raising the lioness Elsa, a story famously told in the book, Born Free. Arrival is in the afternoon, followed by an enticing late evening game drive.
Samburu National Park full day
