The absolute best safari company in Kenya and Tanzania - look no further!!! - I struggle to find words to describe how amazing our trip was. Niko and his team exceeded our expectations in every way! We spent almost a year planning as our plans kept changing, but Niko was extremely patient and answered every single question the entire time. We were a bit nervous as we were 3 women, including my 85-year old mother, but Niko tailored our trip just for us and made sure that we were completely taken care of at every turn. We did a private 12-day safari (6 days Kenya, 6 in Tanzania). The accomodations, the transfers, the staff - every little detail was handled by Niko and it was all perfect!! Our guides Lee and Raymond were beyond exceptional. Their knowledge and pure joy in what they do was just infectious! We learned so much and it was all so magical. I should mention that we also priced the same trip with several other agencies and Niko beat them all. We got a luxury safari at a mid-range price. We also saw every animal imaginable, up close and personal. I have 10,000 more photos if you'd like to see them!

Outstanding Safari Experience — Perfectly Organized by a Wonderful Local Team - From the moment we first contacted this safari company, we knew we were in good hands. The owners, a local Kenyan couple, were exceptional from start to finish. Communication was always clear, fast, and friendly. They provided a detailed itinerary with all the information we needed, and they stayed in touch before, during, and even after our trip to make sure everything was perfect.
Throughout our safari in Kenya and Tanzania, everything was handled with professionalism and genuine care. The team is extremely honest, organized, and truly passionate about what they do. We always felt safe, well taken care of, and valued as guests.
The drivers and guides were outstanding — knowledgeable, patient, and full of fascinating explanations about the wildlife, landscapes, and local culture. Every game drive was an unforgettable experience thanks to their expertise and attention to detail.
The food in every camp and lodge exceeded our expectations — abundant, fresh, and delicious. All accommodations were clean, comfortable, and perfectly arranged. The schedule was always on time, but flexible enough for us to stop along the way to buy beautiful handmade crafts and local art.
This was a dream trip for us, and we couldn’t have asked for a better company to organize it. If you are looking for a reliable, local safari operator who truly cares about their clients and offers a personal touch in every detail, look no further.
We are deeply grateful for the unforgettable memories and highly recommend this company without hesitation.

Wonderful - This was the best vacation EVER!!!! Angela and Nico are a local safari company based in Kenya (not the UK or elsewhere). They booked the most amazing trip for us. We didn’t know what we wanted except that we wanted to see it all. And we sure did see it all! The three guides ( George, Raymond and Evan) were absolutely amazing. They were so knowledgeable about everything-the animals, the national parks, the local tribes, etc. Trust me……I asked a million questions. The tented camps and the lodges were fabulous. The food, the people and the views. If you are planning a Safari this is the company to use! Thank you!

Beyond Our Expectations - It's difficult to know how to sum up a trip like this in just a few lines. From the moment of our first contact, Niko was attentive, answered our questions and looked after us well. Initially I didn't understand that each safari is tailor designed to your own specifications (length of safari and where you want to go). I gave Niko a couple of basic requirements and that was it, he came back with an itinerary which looked perfect, and was.
But enough about the planning of the safari. It was the execution of it that really deserves the most accolades!
Our Expectations: Exceeded! We saw more birds and animals than we could possibly hope for. Elephants meandering to the waterholes, lions binge-eating after a kill, vultures lining up waiting their turn, hippos en masse sunning themselves, thousands of flamingoes swaying to the breeze and even the wildebeest river crossing to name just a few highlights.
The Accommodation: Fantastic! Every tent camp or lodge was different to the previous one. All were interesting and so comfortable with attentive staff and great meals.
The Guides: Very knowledgable and with an incredible eye for finding animals in what just looked like empty savannah plains or hills to us. Peter was our first guide in Kenya. He knew the Masai Mara like the back of his hand and could find any animal we desired and those we'd not even thought of yet. We had so many positive and good experiences with him. Raymond was our next guide in Tanzania and what a fabulous guide he is too. So often we were the only truck around, having incredible experiences viewing the elephants enjoy the waterhole, 100+ hippos sunning themselves or 8 lions enjoying their breakfast kill. Having read previous reviews on this site that mention Raymond, I can truly say that nobody over exaggerates. He's a brilliant guide, lovely personality and a privilege to have spent time with him. Back to Kenya again and we had a few days with Niko and Karanje who found even more animals not often spied. They were both fantastic and great to meet Niko after all his planning of our trip.
The Summary: Absolutely everything was beyond our expectations. So pleased we chose Kenya Tanzania Safari/Destination Consultants. They're small enough to care, but experienced enough to be able to deliver what is required for a good safari. We had one small hiccup one evening towards the end with accommodation that had overbooked (the venues fault). This was quickly resolved by Susan and Niko and I appreciated that having local people on the spot in the same time zone was essential for rectifying unpredictable issues.
Without hesitation I can recommend Susan & Niko.
PS: 2 of our party had a 5-day extension to Zanzibar which was a perfect finish and contrast to the safari. Beautiful accommodation in Stone Town and then a very plush resort at the end to shake the safari dust out of our hair. Recommend the extension too if you've got the time.

Kenya Tanzania Safari - It was in fact 6 days compact tour. They accomplished many features within the stipulated time. Accommodation was great, food was nice. Everything was planned.
We were welcomed with smile by Niko and Sami at the Nairobi Airport very first morning. Nice breakfast was served.
Both the driver at Kenya and Tanzania were very polite, respectful and learned. However, driving was not a fun there!!!!
We recommend other guests using Niko for your valuable Safar tour. He and his team will make sure to achieve maximum memories while you are there.

Masai Mara Safari - One of the best vacations ever! Ours was a 3 day safari and all the three days were extremely good!
Eliud, our guide, gave us great tours and thanks to him we were able to see a lot of good sightings. It wasn't just seeing the animals but explaining the science behind them. Eliud was extremely knowledgeable and we learned so much about wildlife from him. We got to see 4 animals out of the Big 5. You'd be fortunate to have Eliud as your guide. Thank you so much!

Interesting Experience!!! - We enjoyed the experience not only the wild animals and scenery;but the people and children of Africa. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Most all of the lodges were wonderful, they all had a different vibe. Our favorite was the Entim Camp, the furnishings were modern yet appropriate for the area, the staff was exceptional there! It was the most outstanding food by far of any lodge we stayed in! I loved their gift shop and purchased items there. We were glad to have 2 nights of accommodations and could have enjoyed more. These days were the highlight of our trip in that we experienced a hot air balloon ride over the Masai Marra (Highly Recommend!) organized by Destination Consultants and they also arranged a visit to the Masai Tribe and Masai school. These were fantastic experiences!!!!
Our driver with the help of Susan arranged a beautiful lunch in an outdoor setting over looking the water, because we were unable to have lunch at our lodge. It was owned by Susan and Nicolis and very close to the Entim Camp, we were given a tour and served a 5 star meal it was excellent! I’d say on par with Entim meals.
Our least favorite accommodations was the hippo trail camp, likely because it was so hot and the reception area didn’t offer a cross ventilation breeze as the others did.
We traveled a very long rough road ( we were warned) to Serengeti. By the time we had reached Tanzania and Ngorongoro Crater we had seen everything but flamingo’s and were very tired of car travel. We stayed at the Marers Lodge which was 1 1/2 hours from crater. To do over again we would have paid more if necessary to stay close to the crater entrance. This was unexpected extra travel.
Positives- Every detail was taken care of! Park passes, visa’s transfers, the drivers are excellent and handle ever detail! This is huge plus when traveling in a foreign country.
The value is good you get a selection of accommodations ranging from lower mid- to high end! You can customize your trip to exactly what you want! We went with just the 2 of us, it made a great experience not jocking for a spot in the van to view animals- we talked to the driver asked questions and had his full attention.
The drivers were all excellent with their unique personalities. They were calm and confident and we always felt safe!
Negatives- the Roads in Kenya and Tanzania are of extremely poor quality and poor infrastructure . This isn’t any reflection Destination Consultants but on the government. If we had a better understanding of this we would have elected to fly the last few drives from the Kenya Boarder to the crater and Amboseli and the return to Nairobi by airplane as opposed to driving.
By driving however we were able to see the country and the African way of life, I captured so many pictures of the people along the way.
Tips-
1. Add up the number of hours you’ll be traveling from point A to B. Understand the roads can be brutal if they haven’t been recently graded, this is the luck of draw.
2. Understand that safaris are not active trips. It is very difficult to exercise most lodges don’t have fitness facilities. You will be sitting a lot! Many lodges are in the Park which is very cool but you are not safe to go for long walks or jogs.
3. In my opinion 8–10 days, (we went 16 days) is plenty of time to do Safari drives and see parks. Plan a rest to Victoria Falls or Zanibar to relax before heading home.
4. Most flights depart from
Nairobi very late at night- you might want to plan a rest in a hotel in Nairobi for that 9-10 hour period of time, boarding the plane feed, hydrated and a little more rested

A Memorable Trip to Kenya and Tanzania - Nico from Destination Consultants was very helpful and patient when arranging our trip to Kenya and Tanzania. The itinerary suggested was quite good although could have left out Lake Navaisha which had a few hand fed hippos out the back and that was it, so our time could have been better spent elsewhere. The accommodation overall was excellent except for Tukaone Camps in Serengeti which was below average. The camp itself was on a lean, the food was average and we did not have hot water until the day before we left. What made it more disappointing was that this camp was not where we were supposed to stay as I had requested to stay at another camp. Before undertaking this tour, we did a 16 day group tour through South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana which we did a variety a of activities such as hiking, canoeing into the delta and Safari drives. This particular tour only had safari drives for its activities which is perfect if it was the only place you were going in Africa but for us, we found the safaris became repetitious towards the end of the trip.
