• 3 Chome - Please gather at the store near Makishi Monorail Station. It’s just a minute’s walk from the station. We’ll collect our electric bicycles and provide a brief orientation to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for everyone.

• Shuri Kannondo - Here, you can admire Kannon Bodhisattva, the protector of the Ryukyu Kingdom, along with exquisite carvings and decorations. The bright vermilion temple offers a stunning view of Shuri’s cityscape.

• Ankoku-ji Temple - Journey through Naha’s local area, where several traditional houses still stand. Upon reaching the temple, which has upheld Okinawan Buddhism for over 500 years, you’ll be welcomed by an ancient gate and a grand banyan tree.

• Shuri Castle - This ceremonial gate is a symbol of Okinawa. Capture a photo with your bicycle in front of the gate, known for its striking vermilion hue and harmonious design.

• Sairaiin (Daruma Temple) - This temple attracts many pilgrims who come to pray for health and fertility, while expressing gratitude for their current lives. It’s a must-visit for its vibrant red daruma dolls and the enchanting beauty of the torii gates.

• Seikoji - Cross the main street and pass under the elevated monorail to suddenly find yourself at a temple with a sacred ambiance. Adjacent to the newly rebuilt temple, an ancient Japanese Jizo statue stands, warmly welcoming visitors.

• Shuritobarucho - Discover this miraculous spring, found deep in the forest after an Okinawan princess noticed nearby waterfowl. The flowing water maintains a historical connection that endures to this day.

The tour is designed to allow you to experience a little-seen part of Okinawan culture. Cycling around the back alleys of the city with your local guide, you will embark on a pilgrimage to the various Zodiac shrines of Naha and Shuri. You will have the chance to witness modern-day Okinawans observe worship traditions dating all the way back to the Ryukyu Kingdom era. This is your opportunity to experience for yourself shrines, temples, sacred springs, royal mausoleums, and more in the unique Ryukyuan style.
