- Zenko-ji Temple - This temple is stunning and stands out as a favorite among many shrines in Japan. With fewer tourists, it offers a peaceful atmosphere to fully appreciate the surroundings. The temple is excellently preserved, featuring numerous small shrines, a gate leading up to it, and is adorned with beautiful trees, plants, and lanterns. There are also several charming restaurants and souvenir shops nearby. The walk to the temple from Nagano station takes about 25 minutes and is truly worthwhile. It’s a remarkably beautiful place.
- MONZEN TERRACE ENYA - Monzen Terrace Enya is an excellent dining spot in Nagano, Japan. Although slightly removed from downtown Nagano, it is conveniently close to the Zenkoji Temple and is highly recommended for accommodation. The cuisine is a creative blend of Western (such as pizza and pasta) and Japanese styles.
- Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park - The Jigokudani Monkey Park (地獄谷野猿公苑, Jigokudani Yaen Kōen) provides visitors with the unique opportunity to observe wild monkeys enjoying a natural hot spring. After disembarking from the vehicle, a gentle 30-minute walk through a breathtaking forest leads to a gorge. For a very reasonable fee, visitors can enter the restricted area to watch the monkeys play and bathe. The park is home to Japanese Macaques, also known as Snow Monkeys.

Perfect tour - Ali was very accommodating with our group. He arranged everything for us, he got us as close to the snow monkey park as possible, and he gave us great tips for visiting the temple. Our children don’t do well with structured tours so this was perfect for us.

Well-Organized Private Nagano Experience - This private Snow Monkey and Zenkoji Temple tour was a great day out. Moiz was professional, punctual, and very attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The sake tasting was a nice bonus, and the private tour made the experience stress-free and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

Hakuba to Nagano: A Wonderful Private Adventure - We had a great private day trip from Hakuba with Guide Malik. The Snow Monkey Park was amazing, Zenkoji Temple was full of history, and the sake tasting was a perfect finish. Malik was helpful, friendly, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Amazing Experience - Seeing the Snow Mankeys and the ZenkoJi Temple worth both amazing experiences, and easily done as a day trip from Tokyo. Thanks to Ali it was great, making the whole experience relaxing and easy. He was flexible and I enjoyed our discussion as we went between places. Highly recommended. (Thank you Ali)

Wonderful Autumn Experience in Nagano - The 1-Day Private Snow Monkey, Zenkoji Temple & Sake Tasting Tour with Malik in November was excellent. The autumn scenery was beautiful, and Malik provided helpful guidance throughout the day. The Snow Monkey Park was memorable, Zenkoji Temple was culturally rich, and the sake tasting was a great way to end the tour. The pace was comfortable and transportation was smooth. Overall, a very enjoyable and well-organized experience.

Monkey Park in September - We enjoyed our day exploring the Monkey Park. The hike through the forest was beautiful and our guide and driver (Ali and Abdul) did a great job. While we didn’t see many monkeys since it was off season, we had a great day. My advice: go at a different time of year but request Ali and Abdul to be your driver and guide!

Unforgettable Day in Nagano! - We had an amazing time on the 1-Day Private Snow Monkey Zenkoji Temple & Sake Tasting Tour! From the moment we met our guide, everything was seamless. The Snow Monkeys were such a unique experience, and getting to see them in their natural hot springs was something we’ll never forget. Zenkoji Temple was breathtaking, and learning about its history made the visit even more special.
The highlight for us, though, was the sake tasting – a perfect way to end the day! We got to try a variety of local sakes, and the tasting experience was both fun and educational.
Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Nagano – it’s the perfect mix of culture, nature, and a bit of local flavor!

Not as advertised. This is a driver service - there is no guide to the attractions.. - Extremely Disappointed. "Smile" tours misrepresented what it delivers. This is a driver service only. There is no guide for the monkey park or temple. There is no sake tasting. The lunch was not good - it included the worst sushi I've ever had. This company is trying to present itself as another company that actually offers an English speaking guide to the attractions. And it takes longer than 6 hours, since they don't mention the two hour roundtrip drive to the monkey park. Our driver was a nice person but he could have spoken Japanese and it wouldn't have mattered since he barely spoke to us...
