Muscat-Sinkhole-Fins Beach-Wadi Shab-Sur-Ras Al Hadd
Bimmah Sinkhole - The tour begins in Muscat in the morning, heading towards Ras Al Hadd. The first stop is the Bimmah Sinkhole, where swimming in the sinkhole lake is an option. This water-filled depression, a sinkhole in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate in Oman, features a lake with turquoise waters. It measures 50 m by 70 m wide and is approximately 20 m deep. Located 600 m from the sea, between the coastal towns of Dibab and Bimmah village, the sinkhole was formed by the collapse of the surface layer due to the dissolution of the underlying limestone. To preserve it, the local municipality developed a park around it.
Fins Beach - From the sinkhole, the tour proceeds to Fins Beach, also known as White Sands Beach. This location offers a panorama of strikingly white sands and a pebbly beach, with sparkling turquoise waters and a soft, cool breeze.
Wadi Shab - From Fins Beach, the journey continues to Wadi Shab, a vast canyon gorge lined with palm trees and showcasing the power of water descending from the mountains. After a 35 to 40-minute hike through the canyon (walking shoes are required), visitors arrive at one of the crystal-clear water pools. Tourists can swim through the warm waters from pool to pool, eventually reaching the last pool where an opening among the enormous rocks allows swimming into an incredible crevice cave with a small waterfall inside. Sunlight filters in from outside, turning the water a beautiful turquoise blue while water showers down one side of the cave from the wadi beyond.
Sur - From Wadi Shab, the tour continues to Sur for a small city tour. Visitors will see the Dhow Factory and old ships, and explore the old part of Sur where many houses feature wooden doors and windows.
Al Hadd - The tour proceeds to Ras Al Hadd for hotel/resort check-in. In the evening, after dinner, there is a visit to the Turtle Sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz. Here, a guided walking tour on the beach at night under the stars offers a high chance of seeing Oman’s great sea turtles coming ashore to build nests and lay eggs. If lucky, visitors might even see baby turtles hatching from some nests.

This spectacular desert covers an area of 12,500 square kilometers and is also known as Al Sharqiya Sands, formerly “The Wahiba Sands.” Named after the Bani Wahiba tribe, it spans the northern and southern governorates in the Eastern Region, defined by a boundary of 180 km north to south and 80 km east to west.
