This impressive fortress was a base used in the military to hold off the hardest attacks and seiges.
- Nizwa Souk - Next to the fortress is the large Nizwa Souq, a local marketplace that offers a variety of goods including jewelry, pottery, fish, and meats. The list goes on!
- Birkat Al Mouz Ruins - After, we drive to the foot of Jebel Akhdar, an old village called Birkat Al Mauz
- Aflaj Irrigation Systems of Oman - then after visit the Irrigation System of Al Kattmyn, one of the 5 irrigation system heritage by UNESCO.

Touuurrrr - We are a family group of 8 adults and 2 children who recently enjoyed the Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar tour, which also included a visit to the charming Birkat Al Mouz village. The views along the road to Jebel Akhdar were absolutely breathtaking, making the journey as memorable as the destinations themselves.
Our driver was incredibly professional and ensured a safe and smooth trip for everyone. We highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to explore the beauty of Oman.

Fascinating day trip with expert guide. Tailored to our interests in the history & archaeology of Oman - Our guide Ali was a wonderful ambassador for Omani history and culture. Nothing was too much trouble. An extraordinary and beautiful experience - from castle fort & souq to mountain views. And for me the fascination of ancient Omani water management systems still working today. Ali is highly recommended as an expert guide.

Amazing experience in Oman - We had an amazing experience in Oman thanks to our wonderful guide Abdulmajeedr. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and made our family feel safe and welcome at all times. The itinerary was perfectly suited for older adults, and we learned so much about Omani culture and history along the way. A truly unforgettable family trip, highly recommended!

Awesome trip to Nizwa and the green mountains! - The experience was amazing. Our guide Ahmed told us a lot of interesting facts in our tour to Nizwa, Birkat Al Mouz and Jebel Akhdar. He was very friendly all the time and we had several nice conversations with him during our walks and time on the road. Thank you very much!

A trip to remember. - Our trip to Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar was well timed and absolutely amazing. We explored everything and went to all the places in Nizwa and view points in Jebel Akhdar. Our guide, Mr Fawzi, is a very humble and helpful person. We totally enjoyed his company. Thanks to Oman sharing tours for organising this day tour.

Fun and venturesome - Nizwa fort and souk were good for pictures, shopping and getting to know about history and culture. The Jebel Akhdar mountains offer good viewpoints, fossil remains and an amazing village walk experience. Our guide, Fawzi made sure we had an adventurous experience! :)

Amazing views and culture with professional and caring guide - My guide Said Al Kiyumi is quite knowledgable about the culture and history of Nizwa and also provided great and patient guidance at Jebel Akhdar. That made the trip incredible! Also,he ensured to accommodate to ensure my travel needs are well met. Having a caring guide like Said is critical for all types of travelers even for solo travelers. Highly recommend!
