Al Alam Palace - Visit Al Alam Palace, one of the six royal residences of the monarch, with a history spanning over 200 years. Built under Imam Sultan bin Ahmed, the 7th direct ancestor of Sultan Qaboos, the palace was reconstructed in 1972 with a striking gold and blue façade. While the inner grounds are off-limits, visitors can take photos near the gates. The palace is flanked by the Mirani and Jalali Forts, constructed in the 16th century by the Portuguese. It serves as a venue for official events and hosting distinguished guests. In January 2012, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands was received here during her state visit to Oman.
Al Jalali Fort - (Photo Stop) Al Jalali Fort, also known as Ash Sharqiyah Fort, is located in the harbor of Old Muscat, Oman. Built by the Portuguese in the 1580s to protect the harbor after Ottoman attacks, it was captured by Omani forces in 1650. During civil wars between 1718 and 1747, it was twice seized by Persians aiding rival Imams. Extensively rebuilt later, it served various roles, including a royal refuge and a prison. Restored in 1983, it now houses a private museum of Omani cultural history, accessible only to visiting dignitaries, featuring cannons, muskets, maps, rugs, and other artifacts.
Mirani Fort - (Photo Stop) Al-Mirani Fort, originally constructed by the Portuguese, is situated in the harbor of Old Muscat, Oman. During the 1552 Capture of Muscat, an Ottoman force attacked and seized the city and its fort. The newly built Fort Al-Mirani was besieged for 18 days before being captured and its fortifications destroyed.

Bimmah Sinkhole - The first stop is Bimmah Sinkhole, a large crater near the sea with a small lake at the bottom, believed to have been created by a meteor.
