Really good day - Purple Tea Farm Tour - We had a really good day when we visited this Tea Farm. The guides were very friendly and it was interesting to learn about tea picking and processing. We went for a short walk to the tea field where we picked our own tea, which we helped process on our return to the farm. At the end of the trip, we all got small bags that contained the tea that we had picked earlier. A fun souvenir to bring back home with us. After processing the tea, we had a tea tasting. The guides explained the details about the different types of tea and how it should be prepared. The surroundings were just beautiful. On the walk to the waterfall we walked between the tea fields, passed huge bamboo plants and otherwise just beautiful forest. Upon returning from the waterfall, the food was ready for us. We didn’t know what to expect regarding the food, but we were positively surprised. We had a 3-course meal, water and homemade iced tea. All courses contained tea, and it all tasted really well! I think this trip was great value for money – even if you are not a tea drinker. If you are a little interested in the history of Kenya and to see a very small glimpse of how some of the people in Kenya live and work, I would recommend this trip. We had our own driver bring us to the farm, so I can’t review the part of the trip that involves the pick up in Nairobi.
