- Fussen - Upon arrival at the Füssen train station, a taxi awaits to take us on a short journey through the charming town of Füssen.
- Hohenschwangau - This Bavarian village lies at the base of Tegelberg mountain. Overlooking the village is the majestic Neuschwanstein Castle. We explore the village, admire the other castle, stroll by the alpine lake, Alpsee, and enjoy a brief lunch break.
- Neuschwanstein Castle - We ascend the mountain by foot, shuttle bus, or horse-drawn carriage, watching the castle rise above us. From Mary’s Bridge, we enjoy breathtaking views. An experience that brings the castle and Kind Ludwig to life! - Thomas was more than a traditional tour guide, he was an absolutely incredible story teller! We were staying at a hotel in Munich and he met us at our hotel and walked us to the train where he had made all the logistical arrangements. The journey literally began on the train when he took the time to paint this vivid picture of the castle and the stories that inspired King Ludwig to build it. We were transfixed by his blend of history and mythology that brought the castle to life before we even got there! Thomas was so committed to setting the stage for us he even played Wagners symphony music for us to embellish the atmosphere. When we did make it to the castle our experience was much more than just bricks, mortar and paintings - thanks to Thomas we knew about King Ludwig and what drove him to build it the way he did.
Thomas also made sure we had time to enjoy some local Bavarian beer and treats.
Overall, it was a wonderful day and I HIGHLY recommend Thomas and his tour.

Our tour guide, Thomas, was absolutely exceptional. Despite the heavy snow and challenging conditions, he trudged right alongside us with enthusiasm and a smile, making sure we didn’t miss a thing on our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle. His knowledge was deep, his storytelling was engaging, and the personal attention he gave the two of us made the entire experience unforgettable.
Thomas took what could have been a difficult winter tour and turned it into the experience of a lifetime. Highly recommend!

Best Tour of Neuschwanstein and tour guide - Thomas went above and beyond for our trip to Neuschwanstein Castle. The whole day was laid out ahead of time by connecting a few days before the tour. He met us at the hotel and took us first to the U-bahn and then to the Hauptbahnhof making it easy for us. During the beautiful 2 hour trip to Füssen, Thomas told us many stories about the castle in such depth that we felt we were getting a history lesson but he made it interactive that we were extremely engaged. Thomas knew all the best places to take pictures and when the tour began, he would interject more information than the tour guide provided. After having a drink overseeing the Forggensee, we came back to the train ride where we talked more about the castle before having a great conversation about German history.
This was the best tour that we have ever been on and would book Thomas again in a heartbeat! The whole day was schön wunderbar.

From start to finish, Thomas made our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle absolutely magical. His storytelling brought the history, legends, and personalities of the castle to life in a way that was both captivating and memorable. Instead of just facts and dates, he wove everything together like a living fairy tale—you could almost see King Ludwig and feel the drama of the times.
Thomas has an incredible gift for engaging his audience. He kept our entire group leaning in, laughing at moments, and in awe during others. His passion for history and his warm personality created such a welcoming atmosphere that the whole experience felt personal and unforgettable.
This wasn’t just a tour—it was a journey through imagination, history, and wonder. We left with hearts full and minds enriched, and I can honestly say it was one of the highlights of our entire trip.

Awesome day! - Really efficient and information-packed day lead by Thomas. He was a great storyteller who helped bring all the imagery in the castle to life.
The castle tour was brief but well worth it, a funny guide called Peter. You buy tickets for the inside tour separately at the tour ticket office when checking in.
Beautiful views in the town too, we walked down to the lake going up to the castle and we’d recommend the castle balcony for more lakes, mountains and scenery views.
Recommend this tour, a fabulous day and we felt lucky to have Thomas as the guide as he was great.
