- Donauworth - The “Reichsstrasse,” the main road of Donauwoerth, offers a captivating preview of the sights on this historically rich and picturesque tour.
- Harburg Castle - At this point, the romantic atmosphere of the tour becomes evident: This charming town along the river Woernitz provides excellent photo opportunities, as does the castle perched above. (The castle is open for visits during the summer season, from mid-March to early November.)
- Nordlingen - Situated in the center of a meteorite crater, the former imperial city of Nördlingen features a fully walkable circular city wall. The 90-meter high church tower “Daniel” was once used as a watchtower. Here, the first Christmas market is encountered (open daily from 11 a.m.).
- Dinkelsbuhl - Dinkelsbühl, often referred to as the “little sister” of Rothenburg, is equally romantic but less crowded. It is an ideal spot for lunch (not included), and the guide can recommend a good restaurant. The old town is dominated by the tower of the Gothic St. Georg-Church, and a visit to the nearly 60 square meter nativity scene inside is highly recommended! The Dinkelsbühl Christmas market, located in the historic ‘Spitalhof,’ is open daily from 1 p.m., and from 11 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Rothenburg - This renowned medieval city will surpass all expectations!
Begin with an approximately 1-hour guided walking tour in the city’s heart, showcasing breathtaking sights, including:
the town hall at the central plaza
the ‘Meistertrunk - clock’
the Saint James church (small entrance fee) with its remarkable wood-carved altar (early 16th century) featuring the famous holy blood relic and Riemenschneider’s woodcarving masterpiece
the viewpoint at the former castle’s location
the splendid ‘boulevard’ Herrengasse with the enchanting Christmas world and much more!
Back at the main square:
Nestled between the town hall and the church, the Rothenburg Christmas Market, known as the ‘Reiterlesmarkt,’ is one of Germany’s most charming. It has a centuries-old tradition, as the name suggests. The “Reiterle” originates from Germanic legend and, like Santa Claus, is a figure of good fortune that delights everyone with his visit. (Open daily from 11 a.m.)
- Nuremberg Christmas Market - (OPTIONAL: Visit Nuremberg for an additional fee “Price a)” or “Price b)” - see below - PLEASE INDICATE YOUR REQUEST under “Special Requirements” at the time of booking): On the return to Munich, a 45- to 90-minute stop can be made in Nuremberg, known for bratwurst and gingerbread. In the historic old town, three enchanting Christmas markets can be admired. Located on the main square, the ‘Christkindlesmarkt’ is world-famous and one of Germany’s largest Christmas markets (open daily from 10 a.m.). * * Package-PRICES a) or b) for a professional Nuremberg city tour, including parking fees - the prices apply to your entire group (i.e., not per person) - and can only be paid in cash on-site to your guide: * Price a) if the booked time frame of 9.5 or 11 hours is not exceeded (restrictions on other stops may apply): € 50.00 * or * Price b) including 1 extra hour: € 110.00 * PLEASE INDICATE YOUR REQUEST under “Special Requirements”!
