Authentic tour that benefits the Dharavi residents! - A great project where 80% of the proceeds go to the Dharavi community. The tour takes into consideration the inhabitants and our guide Chetan has lived here himself once

Hometown Slum - Today was a once in a lifetime privilege to spend a day in this long-established community of more than 1 million people living and working in less than one square mile. Rishy our tour guide was excellent with very good English and much knowledge about all the many businesses. The money we spent goes 80 % back into the community. Rishy lives here and showed us his home. We came apprehensive that this would all feel voyeuristic. It did not. Although we feel compassion and wish for better living and working conditions, we leave full of respect and admiration for the people. Honestly felt safer and more welcomed in the slum than in Greater Mumbai.ALSO., the home lunch (an additional charge) was the best meal of our trip and an honor. Traditional family meal, deliciously prepared and completely hygienic and safe.

Wonderful yet confronting few hours. - Javed was a wonderful guide who gave us an amazingly insightful overview of life in Dharavi. Experiencing life for 1 million people living in a very limited space will be impossible to describe to friends & family at home.

Great experience - Visiting Dharavi was one of the most eye-opening experiences I’ve had in India. What many people imagine as a place of poverty turned out to be a vibrant, self-sustaining community full of energy, skill, and entrepreneurship.
