Begin your journey with a 5am pickup from your Mumbai hotel, followed by a transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi.
Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, embark on a half-day city tour. In New Delhi, explore the 11th-century Qutab Minar Tower, constructed by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty, who seized Delhi in 1206. Visit the India Gate, a tribute to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Afghan War, and drive past significant government buildings, including the President’s House and Parliament House, dating back to the British Raj era.
In the early evening, travel to Agra via expressway, a journey of approximately 3 hours.
Overnight: Crystal Sarover Primer or similar
Day 2: Agra City Tour and Drive to Jaipur (B)
At 6am, depart from your hotel for a sunrise visit to the renowned “monument of love,” The Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (closed on Fridays). After breakfast, explore Agra Fort before heading to Jaipur, the historic walled city. Founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II, this ‘pink city’ is meticulously designed according to the Shilpa-Shastra, an ancient Hindu architectural guide. The city’s historic palaces and forts have witnessed numerous royal processions and grand splendor.
Additionally, visit Fatehpur Sikri (at your own expense), acclaimed as the world’s most perfectly preserved ghost town. Built by Akbar in the late 16th century, it was deserted after just 14 years, yet the elegant structures of this remarkable walled city remain intact.
Overnight: Lemon Tree or similar
Day 3: Jaipur City Tour and Drive to Delhi (B)
After breakfast, check out at 8am and visit the Amber Fort, the former capital of the Kachhwaha clan until Jaipur became the official capital in 1727. Also, see the Hawa Mahal, constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, renowned as the most breathtaking sight in Jaipur.
Following lunch, proceed to the City Palace, the main residence of the ruling family, celebrated for its exquisite architecture. Part of the palace is now a splendid museum. Visit Jantar Mantar, an 18th-century stone observatory.
If time allows, explore Jaipur’s cottage industry, specializing in hand-woven carpets and textiles, and observe the intricate process of silk carpet making.
In the evening, transfer to Delhi for your next destination (at your own flight).
