Great day in Chiang Rai - We had a great time today. We visited many wonderful places in Chiang Rai and had the explanation of our guide. We went to the White temple, blue temple, black house, tea plantation and Golden Triangle, all in one day. They picked us up in our hotel and dropped us back there. The guide also took pictures of us ! We totally recommend this tour 🤗

So much to experience! - Where do I even begin? This tour was packed with interesting stuff! It might seem a little long, but we enjoyed every minute of it. It started off on a really high note with the White Temple, which exceeded all of our expectations. It was simply stunning, and our guide told us all about the artist behind it, how he got to build it and what it all stood for. The outsides were amazing, and we took tons of photos, and then we went inside for a really, really interesting experience. We could not take any pictures inside, but I really, really wanted to, it was nothing like what I'd expect at all. Our guide was also very helpful here in explaining what all of the different paintings and symbols meant. Absolutely recommend. And there were dragons. Then we went to another temple, the Blue Temple. Our guide told us about the artist of this one, as well, which was quite interesting. We didn't spend as much time here, but the time we spent, we diligently spent looking at the beautiful artwork and of course taking lots of photos. (I honestly don't know what we're gonna do with them all.) All in all also a really nice visit! When driving between the different locations, our guide also gave us some random facts about the city of Chiang Rai, which I appreciated greatly. He was also very welcoming to questions, and answered them all very well. This is also the time to mention that we had no problems understanding his English at all, it was very clear, and he also used lots of body language to make it even clearer. We next arrived at the Black House, or the Black Museum, which actually reminded us a bit of the Norwegian stave churches. Our guide talked about the person designing these awesome houses, and about his passion for collecting and painting. When we walked inside the biggest one, there was so much cool stuff to see. Perhaps my partner and I spent a little too long inside the building, as there were 30+ more buildings to see and we were running out of time. Along the way, in the car, there was plenty of water for us, which was greatly appreciated, as it got pretty warm! Next stop before lunch was the Long Neck Karen village. This was also super interesting, and our guide told us about not only them, but also other tribes and peoples that were contextually important. Very interesting stuff, and they also sold a lot of trinkets and handwoven scarves. We might have gone a bit on a shopping spree, but there were so many nice things! We were all getting a little hungry at this point, and it was finally time for lunch. The guide gave us the option between two restaurants and dishes, both which sounded delicious, but our group almost unanimously decided on one of them. The food was really good, and included in the price. The tea plantation was next, where we had an amazing view of the whole plantation (and a Hollywood-ish sign?), and where we also tasted some different teas and learned about how it's grown and properly made to taste the best. I've never been much of a tea person myself, but it was nevertheless very cool to experience! Second-to-last was the Golden Triangle. I will leave it to the guide to tell you the reason for the name, but it is the meeting point between Myanmar, Laos and Thailand. We went to a high-up place with a fantastic view across both borders, and also a nice temple nearby. Once again, our guide was full of interesting historical facts, which I thought was super interesting to learn about. It was a bit of a drive from the plantation to the Golden Triangle, so we had the opportunity to take a quick power nap in the car if needed. And lastly, there was the Opium Museum, which was just by the Golden Triangle. We learned a lot about the history of opium, especially with regards to Thailand and the Golden Triangle, which was very fascinating. There were also some other things on display here outside the field of opium, and there's a very big Buddha statue nearby that allows for some great pictures, If you're into that. We were. They also had a souvenir shop selling some smaller trinkets to remember the trip by. All in all, while the trip was long, it was 100% worth it! We enjoyed every destination so much, and our tour guide really made it such an interesting experience! Would absolutely recommend it for anyone who is looking to learn a lot and see a lot of great landscapes, temples, buildings, fields, villages, … anything!

Amazing Tour - It was a wonderful experience for my wife and I, we got more than we expected, it was incredible, first of all, we got a very good guide, he was very kind, he kept our attention all the time, and besides, he has a lot of knowledge about the city and the tour, he really cares about you, he made us feel like you were with your group of friends, secondly, we visited 6 different places, we spent the whole day traveling, but we didn't feel like time went by, the day flew by. I definitely recommend the tour, last but not least, the guide kept us hydrated all the time with fresh water, and we ate a nice Thai lunch.

Beautiful tour on Chiang Rai - An incredible guide, very interesting. I was with a family and he knew very well how to visit with children. The places are chosen with taste and we have enough time to do everything we want. It's a change from usual, I had less the feeling of a very touristy site especially in the Long Neck Village. I recommend, thank you for this day!
